Gingrich: Pelosi 'Disqualified Herself' From Being Speaker
ABC News ^ | May 20, 2009 7:13 AM | The Note

ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich today flatly declared that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi should be replaced in the wake of her allegation that the CIA lied to her about harsh interrogation techniques.

“She really disqualified herself to be speaker,” Gingrich, R-Ga., told Diane Sawyer on ABC’s “Good Morning America. “I think the Democrats should get a new speaker.”

Pelosi’s allegation “basically smears” the U.S. intelligence community, Gingrich said, leaving her “disqualified” to be behind only the vice president in the presidential succession order. Leaving her in place, he said, is “very dangerous” for the country.

Pelosi’s office called Gingrich’s suggestion “ludicrous,” and noted that no Democrats are calling for Pelosi to be ousted.

The comments build on an argument Gingrich lays out in his weekly newsletter, sent to supporters Wednesday morning.

“The case against Nancy Pelosi remaining Speaker of the House is as simple as it is devastating: The person who is No. 2 in line to be commander in chief can't have contempt for the men and women who protect our nation. America can't afford it,” Gingrich writes. “Speaker Pelosi has damaged America's safety. . . . America is losing ground because of Nancy Pelosi's contempt for those who defend her. Democrats owe it to their country and our national security to replace Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House.”

That is a damning statement against the entire Democrat party.
Republicans need to start tarring as many Democrats with Nanzi's scandal as possible, just as the Democrats have done to Republicans at every opportunity.
Mark Foley, anyone?

She’s a liberal Democrat.

It’s hard to sink to a new low from there...

We can be absolutely sure of one thing:

If it were Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (R), the 'Rats would be screaming and shrieking for her to resign as Speaker 24/7 and it would be the lead story on every newscast in America.

No, no, no, Pelosi has to stay as Speaker. She’s the GOP’s best weapon against the Dems.

Yes, but Republicans still need to call for her to resign in disgrace, in order to keep the spotlight on her scandal.
There is nothing they can do about it so long as they are out of power anyways.

This is a win-win situation for Republicans.
Their voters, like most voters, support the CIA’s efforts to keep America safe.
It is only the Democrats who will be punished by their supporters on the far Left for being accessories to “torture.”

So it is a lose-lose situation for Democrats to be in the middle of this. Implementing other Democrats, or even getting them on record taking a side can only do them harm. The longer this can be dragged out, and the more Democrats they can drag into it, the better.

My thoughts exactly in reading the headline. What qualifies this lying socialist witch from San Fransicko to be third in line for the presidency?

Ah, understood. I really don’t want too lose the GOP’s best weapon, Pelosi’s raging imbecility. She’s an unintentional gem.

:-)

No, he didn’t. But he did cozy up to Nancy, and Hillary and more.

Whether or not he’s right on this issue, Newt has no business trying to be the spokesperson for the Republicans or conservatives.

No Newt. No Mitt. No Jeb. No McCain.

These peope bear as much responsibility for where our country is as any of the Democrats.
