Former Congressman Scott McInnis has officially entered the 2010 gubernatorial race with little fanfare...
The secretary of state's office confirmed that the Republican turned in his paperwork Tuesday afternoon.
McInnis has traveled the state building support for his campaign in recent weeks and launched a phone campaign.

I don't think that'll save him, though. The business people who were snookered into supporting him in 2006 won't be fooled again.
I thought Tancredo was going to run
Public Policy Polling shows McInnis beating Ritter 48-41
Ritter has not played his cards well.
Great news!
I have not kept up with what he has done on the business side, but his social policy votes have been less than desirable.
Good news! Something to look forward to!
I think McInnis can take him.
Agreed - two of his first priorities were unionizing State workers, and relaxing frivolous lawsuit penalties on lawyers. He is a special interests loving, damn-the-taxpayer one-termer.
Good news. Thanks geo.
This would seem to indicate McInnis realizes his support is not as strong as it should be were he that well thought of. All I can say is party activists are not behind him now. That can change but it explains McInnis’s seemingly stealth entry into the race.
Hey, everyone on FR from CO understands we have problems with our liberal state activists who have controlled too much over the past number of years. Overcoming this paradigm is our biggest challenge, and stopping counties like Denver, Adams or Boulder from running things. Conservative Republicans, Democrats and Independents need to come together to defeat any statist the Democrats nominate.
Make no mistake, Democrats will offer someone who “appears” to be conservative, but electing that person means more statist control of the state or federal government from Democrats. By definition, that won’t work and will harm our state and country.
Poster-boy Ken Salazar is a prime example. He ran as a fiscal conservative, but he voted liberal on every major issue. Our problem is really duplicitous liberal candidates winning elections fooling voters over their being big government supporters.
Colorado voters need to do better.
Ritter vetoed the recent union bill to make himself seem moderate ?
Bill Ritter claimed to be pro-life. Since winning the Governorship, Ritter has pandered to liberal groups. Our decline first started in 2004 when Salazar won the US Senate seat and the Dems took over the legislature. If McInnis can oust Ritter, then it will be a sign that things are turning about around nationally. The road to Conservative revival starts in Colorado.
I believe he did just that. Wasn’t that the bill where he didn’t say “no” but said “not now?”
Our decline began before that with the Democrats changing the playing field with campaign finance reform measures. Nor has the state GOP figured out how to get around it even now. (including McCain/Feingold)
Republicans have not been able to counter what Fred Barnes called the Colorado Model in National Review. The Democrat ground game is much better than the Republicans.
And finally, our choices for candidates have not energized the conservative base, including conservative Democrats and unaffiliated voters.
A ray of hope.
