I'm wondering if Obama's omission of visiting the Pope has anything to do with the the Vatican (reputedly) rejecting three names forwarded as possible ambassadors.

I think the theory about trivializing the importance of the Holy See (while centralizing the importance of the liberal, pro-abort wing of AMCHURCH^®) is more feasible.
