Jimmy Kimmel Demolishes ABCs Upfronts By Dave Itzkoff
If Jimmy Kimmel still has a job at ABC on Wednesday, he is either a very lucky or very deft comedian, or he has great blackmail photos of the network executives.

WOW - I liked the ones about canceling... and then there’s a show with ‘tank’ right in the title... lol

Jimmy Kimmel is my favorite late night talk show host. Letterman has become a crotchety liberal loon. Leno never did fill Carson’s shoes. Jimmy Fallon is horrible. It looks like he is just reading from a teleprompter the entire time.

Sounds to me like Jimmy Kimmel is having a Howard Beale moment.
If I would have to guess, like Howard Beale, Kimmel is tired of the BS. Good for him. It shows that he isn’t some phony celebrity on the make, trying to fool everyone.

The Smothers Brothers still do state fairs and some gigs around the country. It maybe that Kimmel figures he can go on to bigger and better.

Smothers brothers also play Vegas.
(I ran into Dick Smothers a few years ago at a Radio Shack in Vegas when we were looking for a watch battery for Mrs.LVD, he gave us directions to a store called Battery Source...)

While I’m sure the affiliates et al chuckled either out of mirth or embarrassment, they are creatures of habit and will carry on with business as usual chasing a dwindling, aging audience that has neither the buying power nor the loyalty of past years. See also: American carmakers.
They are all counting on Joe and Jane Sixpack opening another bag of Doritos and watching their “new” sitcoms and reality shows but for some reason they believe that Joe and Jane still don’t have satellite, cable, DVRs or the Internet.

I'd like to read an interview with one of the advertisers in the audience. Something equally "honest"...
