WASHINGTON (CNN) Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has signed on to the latest high-profile effort to re-brand the Republican Party but don't expect to see him take a major leadership role for the National Council for a New America, or make a starring appearance at any of the events on the group's national tour.
Organizers of the effort, spearheaded by House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, originally told reporters that Gingrich had not been included in the newly-launched group because his 527, American Solutions, was a partisan entity. (The organization describes itself as a "tri-partisan" network.)
Gingrich supporters dismissed that explanation, pointing out that Mitt Romney a member of the NCNA's panel of experts headed the explicitly partisan Free and Strong America PAC, which donates to GOP candidates.
Gingrich spokesman Rick Tyler downplayed the delay, saying the former speaker was "thrilled and delighted" to join the group.

I like that.
Sad to see Newt signing on to the death warrent of the party, but so be it.
Socialistas won't LET you do that. They are all about CONTROL.
They will intrude on your family, your projects and eventually, your church.. unless it restricts itself strictly to Sunday services, with pablum sermons, from both religious and social perspectives.
Although remember, he did an excellent job at Job One of the President.
The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States
I agree with you, El Gato. History will look well upon G.W. Bush. He determined to shatter a terrorist network, and he succeeded.
He determined to free 50,000,000 people from tyranny, and he succeeded. (I do not automatically think all Muslims are full of hate...the millions freed in Afghanistan and Iraq are proving them wrong.)
He determined to keep taxes low and to respect the sanctity of life, and he succeeded.
His “get along with thine enemy” manner was a bit too naive, and he should have not buckled those last six months...he should have sought other counsel.
Nevertheless, we agree in the main. :)
You're 100% right.
Nonetheless, the globalist duo of Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich, along with complicit Republicans and Democrats, rammed the World Trade Organization agreement through a lame duck Democratic Congress. Like NAFTA before it, the powers that be gave away the national store. They gave it away to an unaccountable, unelected supranational body, the World Trade Organization.
That same faithless establishment forgot to remember that only Congress has the power to make treaties, raise taxes, print money and more or less promote the best interests of the economic and monetary system of the United States. In effect, they rewrote the U.S. Constitution.
Tri-Partisan? hardly.. Third Way Movement gains steam..
Progre$$ives in GoP rag..
You got it. The GOP has been infiltrated just as every other institution in the country. Some of our leading lights have been "acting right" for years now. Now that their boss ($oro$) is in charge, they're coming out of the closet and acting out their true political philosophy and ends. Any of these people who have stabbed Conservatism or the Constitution in the back obviously isn't Conservative.
American, Conservative, and only then Republican.
I meant to use the word drag not rag.. but it works too.
Thanks!
What we have been witness too is a cabal of politicians and supporters that are slowly strangling the nation.
The Republicans and there many efforts, while dwarfed by the left in scope perhaps, have been slowly turning left so as to not wake the ‘rich’ passengers.
Call ‘em remnants of the Rockefeller wing, New Majority, RMSP, NC4NA, whatever.. they are all complicit in committing acts against the Constitution that threaten the very foundations of this nation.
The last two years have produced more than an adequate amount of evidence of what they are willing to do and who they seek to destroy.
LOL!
What you say is true, but sometimes you need to get back to your roots
