The first 20 years of radar on ships caused a phenomenom called “radar assisted collisions”. Ship’s officers were mis-interpreting data.
Two winters ago a guy stranded his family in the snow packed mountains do to “GPS assisted lost.”
And four wheel drive really does get you stuck further in the woods than 2 wheel drive :)
I think 870 million is the ice cream budget for the Acorn post-census celebration. You don’t suppose they could...
Nah.
I’d almost feel better if these were friends taking precarious drives off the grid, but they’re talking about regular addresses in and around major cities. The good news, I suppose, is that, unlike in your examples, they’re at least not usually endangering themselves.
They will absolutely fund it. The entire military relies on this technology and we could not use unmanned vehicles or cruise missiles without it(or bomb a Chinese Embassy).
With GPS they can more easily track their assets and coordinate movement, strategy and tactics.
Cities and states also rely on GPS for Coordination as do major corporations. There is a health and safety issue as well as an economic benefit to GPS.
No way is this going unfunded
