Aside from the big government programs, there is little available in the US to help those in need. Again, Americans make a big show of their philanthropy, but, compared to other developed countries, they are in fact quite stingy when it comes to helping those in need. This is wrong. Provably wrong.
When somebody makes such a glaring error, I wonder what other facts in the article are wrong.

This is wrong. Provably wrong.I argue that the author is right, but it depends on definition. Who are those in need? The author, being European, would claim ALL are in need. Socialism addresses that.
We might differ in our definition of 'in need'. However, from the authors frame of reference, he would be right.
The rest of the article is superb. Scary, but superb.

I’m afraid the system may collapse before I finish reading... LOL...
To: Lazamataz
According to this line of reasoning, we’ve been in collapse mode for 220 years now.

A few good points, but there’s no bigger fool than one that figures he’s read all the signs and now is equipped to predict the future.

I prefer the shorter version.
1. The welfare state is a failed business model.
2. Marxist politicians spend money they don't have to buy votes, but eventually they run out of it.
3. Foreign countries stop buying our debt, the currency crashes, and we go bust.

I think that would be Stage 5. But not to worry - we’re only at Stage 1 now. Back to the American Idol thread for me.
P.S. I think the Stage 5, Cultural Collapse happened awhile ago. And no, I don’t follow American Idol!
