Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will refuse on his trip to Washington to back the formation of a Palestinian state, an MP close to the premier said on Saturday, according to national radio. Netanyahu "will not make a commitment to Washington on the creation of a Palestinian state which would undoubtedly become a 'Hamastan'," Ophir Akunis from Netanyahu's right-wing Likud party was quoted as saying, referring to the Islamic movement Hamas which controls the Gaza Strip and favours armed struggle against Israel.
The hawkish prime minister is scheduled to arrive in Washington on Sunday ahead of his maiden meeting with US President Barack Obama since the two men took office this year.
The key meeting takes place against a backdrop of disagreements over the Middle East conflict and how to deal with Iran's nuclear programme.
While Netanyahu has repeatedly refused to endorse the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state, Obama is insisting on a "two-state solution" to solve the Israeli-Palestinian crisis."
Obama also wants the new Israeli government to halt new building work in Jewish settlements on the occupied West Bank but Netanyahu has said he wants to expand existing settlements.

Note To Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, don’t listen to him Ben. Just looks what Obama is doing to the U.S.A. Do you really want this to happen to Israel as well ?

If they weren’t such Liberals, they wouldn’t care what others thought. It wasn’t the boycotts of South Africa that brought an end to the white government.
But, I accept your point, so I go back to my Turkey plan.
Well, even FReepers agree to “no taxation without representation” (even if it ain’t working too well right here and now... LOL...)...
In other words, it doesn’t go over too well in the world for a “representative type of government” — who is supposed to represent these values — to then remove the right to vote. Israel knows that wouldn’t fly with the rest of the world (no matter how many terrorists are around...).
And face it, if Israel decided to not give a significant portion of their people living in Israel *no vote* in the government — can you imagine the uproar that would cause here in the U.S. and how much pressure would be put on the U.S. government to either back away from Israel because of that and/or to put sanctions on Israel, plus all of Europe putting sanctions on Israel — AND — the Muslims *gleefully* going along with sanctions, too....
Some people here think the Israelis are stupid idiots... or something... LOL...
Maybe Star Traveler, you could pack them into a large missile and send them to Uranus..
Sure, that’ll work...
We should be able to do it about the time that the State of Israel is overrun by them... :-)
Why wouldn’t he back one in, say, Delaware?
Or how about Chicago?
Fantasy of the day: During their first face-to-face meeting, while surrounded by reporters, BiBi slips 0bambi an envelope and whispers in his ear, "Enclosed is a copy of your birth certificate, passport, college and law school transcripts, and financial aid/scholarship applications. Can you say "Mossad?""
An hour later at the joint news conference, 0bama reads from the teleprompter, "I have never been an advocate of the two-state peace initiative... and by the way, my father's third wife in Kenya is actually a Jew, yeah, that's right, from the Lost Tribe...
It’s not mine, it’s theirs... :-)
At the very least, you’re probably eager to give the palesites a reach around..
I’m not looking to give the Palestinians anything, but I do know why Israel has gone for the two-state solution, because they’ve seen the one-state solution is national suicide for the “Jewish character” of the nation of Israel — and I understand their perspective on it.
They’ve “looked down the road” and have determined that the only way that they can preserve the “Jewish character” of the state of Israel, is by keeping the Palestinians out of the state of Israel, which is why they’ve gone down the road of the two-state solution for many years now, and why Netanyahu is continuing down the same road, but also demanding “performance” from the Palestinians for getting their state.
As for me, I know what God is going to do, I know where it’s all going...
Obama is outclassed, outmanned and unprepared for a showdown with Netanyahu. I’m thinking Bebe is going to school him.
I’m glad he keeps you posted..
Glad to oblige... I’ll let you know the next time he tells us more...
Thabnk you..
“Obama is outclassed, outmanned and unprepared for a showdown with Netanyahu. Im thinking Bebe is going to school him.”
You are so right.
