The Kashmir dispute between India and Pakistan has been registered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest militarized territorial dispute in the world.
The Guinness Book of World Records used the Central Intelligence Agencys (CIA) world fact book to name the Kashmir issue, the longest dispute between two countries, The Daily Times reports.
In the latest edition of the Guinness Book of World Records, page no. 137 of the wars section reads states : According to the CIA fact book, the dispute between China, India and Pakistan for Kashmir region is the largest and most militarised dispute.
India and Pakistan have fought three wars over Kashmir: in 1947, 1965, and 1999. India and China have clashed once, in 1962 over Aksai Chin
Since the 1990s, the Indian administered Jammu and Kashmir has been hit by confrontation between Kashmiri separatists, including militants who India alleges are supported by Pakistan and the Pakistan Armed Forces, and Indian Armed Forces which has resulted in thousands of deaths in the Valley.
Too much guiness will do that....
That would be the murderous dispute between the Copts and Muslims in Egypt.. -OR- the socialist dispute with the Russian and Soviet people.. -OR- the socialist dispute with the Chinese people.. but NOT the dispute between the Turks and Armenians.. which is not SMALL..
And one of the longest-running.
Guinness doesn’t seem to notice, however, that there is a party to the dispute other than India and Pakistan: the Azad Kashmir movement, which seeks independence for Kashmir.
Azad Kashmir, LOL!
That strip of land the Pakies have the chutzpah to call “free”.
Given all the attention it gets, I’m surprised Israel-Palis didn’t make the record books
No, the Kashmir independence movement. A legitimate party to any discussions.
So, you mean, the Civil War should have had the dissolution of the United States as its ideal outcome?
About as legit as Khalistan!
Quick, name the last time Pakistan held elections in Kashmir.
TBP, what, after the phenomenal success of the newly independent Khalistan, now you’re agitating for Azad Kashmir. Well, wish you the best and as much success as has been seen with Khalistan.
Inshallah.
