WASHINGTON – Barack Obama warned Democrats in Congress against making a partisan cause out of the Bush administration's harsh interrogation tactics.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is ignoring him — loudly — and the party,..
So far, it's Pelosi who's suffered the greatest harm.
It may never be resolved exactly when she first learned that waterboarding had been used against terror suspects ..
But the Democrats' claim to the moral high ground on the issue has been blemished by her explanation this week that in early 2003 she shifted her attention to winning political control of the House and didn't wage a protest against what she now calls torture.

I don’t think so. Pelosi will get all the protection and support from the MSM that she needs. When was the last time that a corrupt Democrat had to resign?
What if this is a media trap for conservatives? What if the CIA doesn't want to be at war with the Speaker of the House, and knows future funding depends on playing the game, and they don't want to go back to being underfunded by the Democrats who they realize are now firmly in power? So what if they accept a guilt they don't really have, to admit to having inadequately briefed Pelosi, and provide her a face-saving exit? Even throw someone under the bus who wants early retirement anyway.
Then the media rush in, condemning the hate-filled talk radio crowd, FoxNews, bloggers, etc., for falsely accusing the Speaker of the House, who is also a grandmother you know. Republicans have a real problem with women in power, yada yada.
So Republicans take a hit for (falsely according to MSM / correctly according to facts no one will take the time to sort through and the media won't provide), and lies become truth, truth lies. Another day dawns in Washington, D.C. Democrats get nastier and win again.

If Obama decides his power would be enhanced with Pelosi gone, the MSM may well turn on her.
The average American voter has no knowledge, understanding or interest in her gaffe unfortunately. This is pretty much inside baseball for politicos. Like she is going to lose her speakership or her seat in Congress or cripple her party? Probably not a factor in 2010 election.
Pelosi and the rest of her crew kept their mouths shut regarding EIM in 2002 because GWB’s polls were in the 70% range. They could have screamed it from the rooftops that we were waterboarding terrorists and the public would have been outraged that we weren’t being tougher on the terrorists. When she said, “she had to focus on getting a different President,” that is precisely what she did. They layed low, created innudeno and lied for six long years regardless of the damage done to this country.

When interrogation has run its course and no longer gathers interest, they'll move on. Just like their thing with Gov. Palin, Rush, etc. They have to keep pushing other issues into the fore to distract from their failures.

So, who was the director of the CIA, from 9/11 to 2004?
George J. Tenet was the Director of CIA, from 1997–2004 .
Tenet was appointed by President Clinton and approved by Congress. Tenet then became the CIA director in August of 1997.
So, Pelosi is now saying that George Tenet lied to her or ordered his congressional briefers to lie to Nancy.
