I’m set. Drink Coffee. Do stupid things faster and with more energy.
Caffeine helps your body burn fat. I loved it for longer distance rides.
You like your coffee like mine: strong, sweet, and lots of it. I grind my own beans, but the big thing is that I use distilled water and natural crystal sugar. That way no taste is imparted to the coffee by the water and the demerarra sugar adds an extra dimension to the flavor. And a glass cup if I can. Everything tastes better in glass.
Personally, I think it's worth it. I have a sign posted in my kitchen (yes, the kitchen belongs to me, not my wife!) right above the coffee brewer that reads: "Life Is Too Short For Bad Coffee!" (right next to my framed and signed print of Darryl Willison's "Fresh Cowboy Coffee" artwork).
I know, I'm obsessed with coffee, but hey, it had to be something.
Instead of using distilled water you should try using just filtered water or spring water. Distilled it actually “too pure”. There is nothing left for some of the various flavor compounds and components to bond to (all the minerals have been removed by the distillation process). If you have “soft” water at your house, you don’t want to use that either.
COFFEE IS A FOOD GROUP! COFFEE IS BREAKFAST! I’M NOT SURE IF I’M DRINKING ENOUGH, THREE OR FOUR MUGS FOR BREAKFAST! WAIT! I’M ALL OUT! BRB!
I roast my own green beans in a hot air popcorn popper with a custom made screen chimney to keep the beans from flying everywhere. Only downside is you can’t get distracted and forget it’s going, it’ll probably catch fire if let run long enough. I say probably, because the one time I walked away and forgot it, I realized my mistake at the “very heavy smoke plume” stage. Smoked up the neighborhood real good.
Also, try “re-roasting” storebought roasted beans (8 o’clock, Starbucks, whatever) till it just begins to crackle. It makes mediocre beans infinately better.
There’s nothin’ better than coffee made with fresh ground beans still warm (not hot) from the roaster brewed in a french press. Worth every bit of the small extra hassle.
When it first started back in 2004, went to the hospital ER. After $14,000 dollars in tests at a cardiac center, they came back and told me my ticker was good and to stop drinking caffeine and not to take any other stimulants for a while.
I use a stirring base from a stircrazy pop corn maker to stir the beans and a supentown convection oven top placed on the stir crazy base to roast the beans. About $100 if both items purchased new.

Yea I add cream to my coffee too. Not the fake stuff mind you, but half & half.
And don't forget the Donuts.
Half & half is fake stuff. We use heavy whippin' cream. We also percolate in our stainless steel camp coffee pot on the stovetop. If you can see through it, it's not done!
HHMMMMM....interesting....thanks.
