The GOP - grasping defeat from the jaws of victory since 2006.

“Anything you can do, I can do better...I can do anything better than you.”

This illustrates to big problem with the GOP. When they pull stuff like this, they have conceded the argument to the Democrats and are beaten from the beginning.

Hate to say it, but the GOP needs a man on a white horse...now.

Why are Republicans offering a carbon tax?

Because they're DemonRat-lite

Al Gore wants a carbon tax, cap and trade. He said he wanted both to congress. Some want a mileage tax too.

BUT, on glen beck a couple of days ago, something about obama asked marketing agency to come up with a term that the American people will accept because they are tired of hearing cap and trade. What I think happened is Cap and trade tax is what is known and obama wants to hide that it is a tax. But when we hear it again we may not know what they are talking about.

I don’t agree with either gloabal-warming-alarmist position, but a tax is much more honest than the cap-and-trade scheme and wouldn’t subject us to the bureacratic nightmare that acompanies cap-and-trade.

The fact is, we should have neither.

Experts agree a carbon tax is marginally less destructive than the cap and trade scheme. Yet, of course its still terribly expensive and growth inhibiting- just not as much.

Its of course absurd to negotiate about this, its infinitely better-politically and economically- to just wage a fight against any scheme. The support of some Republicans for a “carbon tax” means they’ll own it when it comes down and its time to assess blame.

The whole thing would be like negotiating with the Nazis in the 30s in regards to their Holocaust Policy- thinking somehow it might be made less objectionable if common ground could be reached.

SHOW ME THE PROOF THAT MANKIND IS DESTROYING THE PLANET!!!
Where are we going to get the power to support all the illegals coming into America? The Kennedy’s, and other rich folk, have prevented wind mills because they are noisy, dangerous (they fly a part) and worse horror of all – THEY ARE AN EYE SORE, Feinstein wants to block solar cells from the dessert, the environmental Marxist have stopped all new hydroelectric dams and want to tear down those that are up; of course you can’t build nuclear, coal, or oil plants. So what is left? Solvent Green?

Cap-and-trade is also a fiat money scheme which seeks to monetize the air.

And we will all pay for it.

First as a tax through inflation, brought about by injecting money into the economy with no corresponding product or service. You could just as easily monetize “sunny days” and “cloudy days” as will come from monetizing the air.

And second by imposing a business burden which will be (obviously) passed on to customers, i.e. all of us.

A cap system will do far more to impede economic growth than a tax would. A tax merely discourages growth. A cap and trade system would prohibit it.

Tax-&-Spend, Tax-&-Spend, Tax-&-Spend

I think it's about time we start fleecing some of these jerks in all levels of government. Apparently, they think the Tea Party's weren't aimed at them.
