Yet the judge can jail you for contempt if you refuse to remove a ball cap...

as I watched some headscarfed, face-covered woman attempt to drive a car the other day and another push a stroller, I wondered what the bugger are they even doing in this country? There are 57 nations which are members of the islamic league or whatever they call it which gladly enforce this bullshit.
If you can't look me in the eye and speak for yourself..........tuff, you are done.
Creeping sharia.

If you would like to be added or dropped from the Michigan ping list, please freepmail me.
Thanks for posting this, restornu.
...and I am completely unsurprised by the comments that have been posted so far. Unsurprised and disgusted. In fact, I’m too disgusted to comment right now. I’m not in the mood for a suspension.
A Nun in a conservative order may keep her “headgear” on in court but her face must be shown. I think that will be the standard that will be applied.

What do the courts say about your right to face your accuser in court?
In the muslim theocratic nations, she would not even be permitted to drive.
Take your driver’s course wearing a mask and you will be failed for having obstructed viewing area.
If you don't want to believe that an attack on one religion in this country is an attack on all, Amen. Have it your way. Just don't piss and moan the next time some flap about the Ten Commandments being posted in a courthouse makes the news...don't kvetch when an atheist sues the courts because a witness was asked to swear an oath on a bible.
Bzzzzzzzt!!!! Wrong answer, but thanks for playing. A crucifix does not conceal your identity or deny Jurors the ability to judge your facial expressions in response to questioning.
I guess I'm just one of those cry-babies who believes I have a freedom to practice my religion,
There's not a single word in the koran which demands that women conceal their faces. Not one.
If you don't want to believe that an attack on one religion in this country is an attack on all,
See above. You're ignorant about what is really required by that hateful ideology masquerading as a religion known as 'islam'.
You're arguing from a position of ignorance. That's never very pretty to watch.

Perhaps we could go with the Sharia approach in such cases which weights a woman's testimony as less than that of a man's.
Wear a mask or head wrap when you go to testify against a violent street gang and see if the judge permits you to shield your ID for personal safety.
There are muslim men who find it personally insulting (”for religious reasons”) for a woman to look them in the eye. Some would say that is sexist. Should he be permitted to express personal outrage if a woman looked him in the eye?
No one is above the law. If justice is to be blind, everyone should appear in court as equals.
I also have a problem with claims that removing the burqua for passport photos, driver’s license photos, and arrest booking photos is “forbidden”. The purpose of a photo is to identify a person. Not a person in a mask.
You appear in court so that the judge, jury, accused, and defendant can all see who is going on record with a statement. Body language is also a factor.
If you want to live in a 14th century trapping, move to a 14th century village. But don’t require that everyone in that village comply with your religious traditions. There exists a God given right to a freedom of religion, no Islam by decree. No prohibitions on converting away from the faith.
Tell me how many dedicated leftists there are on the court. I’ll tell you the decision.
Michigan has an “anti mask” law. (Originally enacted to thwart the KKK). So how is it even legal for her to go out in public with her face covered?
