Rockstar energy drink founder and CEO Russell Weiner - son of Michael Weiner, aka Bay Area-based, nationally broadcast conservative talk radio talk host Michael Savage - on Monday made a $25,000 contribution to San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's 2010 gubernatorial campaign.
Yes, the son of Michael Savage, who just last October was saying Newsom is "in love again with the gay mafia" and "a whack-job as a mayor - 'Any-twosome' Newsom." Y’know, Savage — the guy the Brits don’t care to have around.
Is this a case of the apple falling far from the tree? It's not as if the junior Weiner has been some raging liberal: He ran for the state Assembly in 1998 as a Republican, touting the fact that he with his dad had founded the conservative Paul Revere Society (later stripped of its nonprofit status, and now redirecting Web browsers directly to Savage's site.)
So what's the deal?
"We're personal friends, went to the same high school at different times,” Weiner told me a short while ago. “And he's a businessman, I'm a businessman, so I hope he'll be good for the business community if he's governor."

Michael is not a liberal. He’s just not paying homage to christian conservative dogma enough for some on the right.

Why would he, he is Jewish. Jews vote about 80% liberal and the Evangelicals that you don't like vote almost 80% conservative.
In fact if it wasn't for those Christian conservatives there would not be any conservatism in America. None believers vote about 70 to 75% liberal.

Btw—Savage’s show is no schtick. He may go off the deep end sometimes and give air time to MORONS like Chuck U Schumer because he was against the Dubai ports deal but on the whole he lambasts these leftists better than any other talk show host in the business.

You insinuated that I bought Savage’s BS “hook line and sinker” which is false, because (A) I hardly listen to him, and (B) He’s the stereotype of what conservatives are to the Left. I’m just stating that Savage is an old-school, lunchbox American who isn’t afraid to speak some truths that Rush and Hannity avoids. If that crosses into the Left so be it, because the far traditional left is much more in common with some of our goals than you realize.
You HAVE bought into his BS by trying to paint him as conservative when he’s a liberal in conservative clothing as the only reason for his radio program is to give fuel to liberals in this country through painting conservatives as hate mongers - which is exactly what Savage has tried todo and has accomplished. The fact that first he, then his son have generously donated to the campaigns of not only liberal candidates for CA public office, but extremely extreme liberals, should be your first clue.
