Notre Dame alumni who are upset with the university's decision to allow pro-abortion President Barack Obama to give this coming weekend's commencement speech and to give him an honorary degree continue to withhold their donations to the Catholic college.

It's so good to know that there are still people out there with money and influence that still maintain morals, values, and integrity.

Somewhere I read that ND’s annual budget is in the billions. I have a nagging feeling that Fr. Jenkins considers this just a small fuss in an otherwise pleasant end of the year. I cannot make myself believe that he allows any of this to impact his serene self-assurance that he is doing the socially proper thing by inviting Obama.

I am equally certain that “cafeteria Catholics” are reassuring him that these wild-eyed extremists are just a flash in the pan.

God help me, I think I’m correct in my assessment...
