I dunno, I guess some talk radio is that way. Certainly The Savage Weiner, and, unfortunately, Mark Levin, could be described that way.
I'm a Salem guy, and Bill Bennett certainly doesn't correlate to that description. Candor, intelligence, and good-will.
Mike Gallagher, yeah, that would cover him.
Dennis Prager talks about all sorts of things, and is insightful and compelling.
Michael Medved is smart as a whip and I enjoy listening to his strategy as he takes apart liberal arguments.
So, I guess my point is, some of the shows may be that way, but if you look around, there's some very intelligent, compelling radio to be had out there.
Unfortunately I can’t get streaming audio at work so am limited to a little of Rush and as much Hannity as I can stand during my commute home.
Right, the townhall hosts you mention aren’t so vitriolic (although Michael Medved does have some fight in him when it comes to Islamic jihad and the antisemitism of people like Jimmy Carter who he briefly had on his program this year).
They generally try to give the audience something positive to ponder (not the silver lining, just other topics than constant negativity).
And some of the Clear Channel hosts don’t make a good case for conservativism. There are a lot of syndicated and local loudmouths (heard one who’s beef was about a school that had cancelled the prom because of swine flu). It’s a show. They want to generate calls. Doesn’t mean that it has anything to do with conservativism or accomplishing anything.
