Hoping to recapture the grassroots energy of last months tea parties, Republican Govs. Mark Sanford of South Carolina and Rick Perry of Texas will host a tele-town hall Thursday thats being dubbed Tea Party 2.0.
The Republican Governors Association said it is expecting 30,000 people to participate in the town hall, which will take place roughly one month after the much-publicized anti-tax tea party rallies held in hundreds of locations across the country on April 15, the tax filing deadline.
Sanford and Perry will each speak for several minutes before opening up the town hall to up to an hour-long question and answer session.
RGA Executive Director Nick Ayers said that while the effort Thursday will be on a smaller scale than the April tea party rallies, it still represents a great opportunity to mobilize that support.
Both Perry and Sanford are favorites among the tax-averse tea party attendees.

Looks interesting.
Pffft.... The bastard RINOs and related suckups never supported the TEA PARTY. Now, they want to lead the charge. Go get a life! Screw’em.
Well this spells the death of the Tea Party movement.
How about coming to the table with a mea culpa. No, they want to run the horse race.
Again, screw’em!
If they got the message the Tea Parties sent, then why are they trying to use them as political tools?
The Tea Parties were a method of passing on the message that politicians were ignoring!
You said it. The GOP has no credibility on fiscal conservatism as it was them who got the ball rolling into this mess. Typical Republicans, trying to hornswaggle in on the grassroots. If they were smart, they’d offer ideas and contrast their plans with the Democrats.

Amen to that. Rick Perry only wants to grandstand some more so Kay Bailey Hutchinson won’t beat him in the Governor’s race. This has nothing to do with how he actually feels and everything to do with elections. Ditto Sanford—who grandstanded how he’d never take a dime, then took the stimulus money, the huge pile of government spending that the Tea Parties were organized to protest!

No, it doesn't. We just change the name to something else. The ones scheduled for the 4th should be something like "Freedom Protest" or some thing someone with a knack for names can come up with. I don't have that knack.
The point is we can't let politicians highjack this movement. The left wants it to be so because then they can disclaim in grassroots movement.
The RINOs of the republican pols want to pre-empt it so they can milk it for votes.
We simply change the name every time we protest and leave the a**hat politicians in the dust, both Dimwits and Republicans.
Liberty Rallies
Liberty Rallies, great name! I knew someone could come up with one:)

Gov. Mark Sanford Ping! |
I know this is a governors thing. I wish Jim DeMint was on this train. Maybe as a special guest?
Are they RINO’s or what? Are they trying to dilute the effect of the Independence Day party? Will they push to get major press to a minuscule event? Do they not understand that politician organizers are unwelcome? What part of “grass roots” don’t they get? Are they stone dumb? Are the answers so obvious as to make all these rhetorical questions?
