As usual, Newspeak has it wrong.
I think the largest faction of idol watchers that may NOT vote for Mr. Lambert in the final 3 and/or final two toss-up are not upset or distracted by his supposed sexuality, whatever it is.
I think they agree with me.
My issue with him is that while I recognize his abundant singing talent, I also sense another abundant talent he seems to demonstrate - an acting talent and the use of it in the creation, the manufacture of a persona.
To me there is a great deal about Mr. Lambert that is more like a member of the rock group Kiss, than the very personal individual on the order of an Elvis;
and that type of pure stage-persona - as opposed to bringing forth one’s inner self - seems allot more a part of him than all the other current contestants and all the previous Idol winners.
I think he has abundant talent. I just don’t like the feeling that what he is presenting is much more manufactured, and artificial and less of some real Adam Lambert - whoever that is.
If one watches a Susan Boyle video clip on YouTube and then an Idol clip of Adam Lambert, I think what I am trying to say becomes obvious.
Between his photo in my post #24 and this video, we can see that you’re right.
Adam before Idol (wholesome video)
