I use my TV for DVDs, it doesn't get any reception right now. I'd like the libs to try to tax me for its use--I'd dump the thing on the White House lawn.

While there's currently no tax on TVs themselves in the US, so over the air broadcast TV is still free and untaxed, if you have cable, you're definitely being taxed: Just look at your cable bill.

But yes, the Brits actually have an annual TV tax on the device itself.
