Goodness... it never ends.
Somewhere along the line he forgot to pray, and spend time before the Blessed Sacrament.

This is hilarious. Did he think that most everyone hadn’t already figured that out. What an emeritus idiotus.

The Vatican says that men with "deep-seated" attraction to other men should not be ordained. And this sort of thing is exactly why the American bishops were crazy to ignore that rule.

I wonder when the Old POS will admit he’s a Marxist too?

Marcoux went public at the height of anger over the clergy sex abuse crisis, when Catholics and others were demanding that dioceses reveal the extent of molestation by clegy People keep getting this wrong. It's not the "extent of molestation," it's the extent of homosexuality that has been the cause of this problem in the Catholic priesthood. Only when the Catholic leadership openly and honestly acknowledges this will the problem be solved. The percent of homos entering the priesthood to hide and cavort with others like them is unprecedented. It HAS to stop. Any hint of homo tendencies in potential priest candidates should immediately disqualify them.

The more a cleric praises the fruits of Vatican II, the more likely that he is one.

This is hardly a revelation at this point. Pray for this man and for all those to whom he has done harm as shepherd of the Church in Milwaukee.

Bishop Weakland was a very influential figure long before he became a bishop. He was the no. 2 man for the group that created the new/ Ordinary Form of the Mass.
To: sockmonkey
he can probably get transferred to Episcopalians....

In the middle ages homosexuality among the clergy was a capital offense, administered by drawing and quartering.
Ah, the fruits of the Enlightenment!

Only the “faithful” would believe he wasn't gay. It was obvious to anyone who could see that he is gay.

There’s a special place in hell for priests who cover up molestation. This from a man who admires many good priests, AND I have 12 years of Catholic school behind me. No excuses, he should have resigned before he got started.
Guys like him make it impossible to recruit new Catholics.

"is up front about his homosexuality in a church that preferred to ignore gays," Publisher's Weekly wrote in a review Monday.Up front?!?! He's lied about it for decades, how does that qualify as up front?
To: dfwgator
Putting a man with homosexual inclinations into a seminary (or the philosophy department at the University of Walamaloo) is like putting a normal guy in a camp full of high school girls.
I believe the technical term is "near occasion of sin."
But "no pooftahs!" is close enough for government work.

The only thing you need to know about this asshat is that he had a giant mural of himself painted on the cathedral ceiling - right up there with the prophets.

Just another reason why *all* Roman Catholic priests, not just some, should be allowed to be married.

Weakland, a Benedictine, plans to move to St. Mary's Abbey in Morristown, N.J., this summer.Does anyone realize that St. Mary's Abbey is on the campus of Delbarton High School! (It actually starts with 7th grade)
