US journalist freed by Iran, reunites with parents

By ALI AKBAR DAREINI – 16 minutes ago

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — An American journalist jailed for five months in Iran was freed Monday and reunited with her parents after an appeals court suspended her eight-year prison sentence on charges of spying for the U.S.

Roxana Saberi, a 32-year-old dual Iranian-American citizen, met her parents outside Evin prison Monday evening after the court cut her jail term to a two-year suspended sentence, her lawyers said. While they awaited her release, her mother, in a headscarf, smiled while her father looked overcome with emotion.

"She was reunited with her father and mother. They left for their house," her lawyer Saleh Nikbakht told The Associated Press. He said Saberi was free to leave Iran immediately.

Her Iranian-born father, Reza Saberi, said he planned to return home with his daughter in the next few days. The family lives in Fargo, North Dakota and her parents have been in Iran for several weeks seeking their daughter's freedom.

Why shouldn’t he - it was the right - as usual - who claimed Iran acted out of Obama weakness - and it’s been reported that Obama and Clinton both pushed for release. Unfortunately, in their desire to discredit Obama, the right tends to leap before looking... Once again, they called Obama out and lost...

how long do you think this will continue?

Well, lets see, the left trashed and lied about Geo W for 8 years.

But now they/you expect us to not point out truths about BHO. It does not work that way.

BHO is on his way to destroying the very fabric of our nation.

In the future he will be given credit for that destruction. Whether it will ever be able to be corrected is anyones guess.

Could this be a well thought out conspiracy? American corespondent is given eight years in jail for being an American spy. This is to establish credibility. On appeal she is set free with a slap on the wrist and returns to our country as a hero. Only to becomes a snoop for Iran.
