I like your amen. Ditto.
Been waiting for this mission for years, and then finding out about the Thursday launch of the Herschel and Planck telescopes from Europe, holidays all.
Does anyone know if the “new” Hubble will do another Deep Field?

Wow.I always get the chills:) We got 0bama running around the world apologizing, the Left telling us that we're the evil one and all we did for 7 years is create more terrorist, 7 years of the Left calling our military a failure, etc, etc.
But every once in a while we get to watch Americans strap themselves to the top of a hydrogen bomb, set it off and let the explosion propel them into outer space and it's a great "FU" to all the other governments in the world whose failed experiments and oppression has preventented them from being able to do what we do as a matter of ordinary.

One of the few times (and maybe the last) a Shuttle is going into an American orbit.

Should be, but we’ll have to wait for the tile inspection.

I don't like the elliptical orbit (300 plus down to 100 miles) that the shuttle has to do while going through all that china and russian space junk. I guess they will have to pass though it a lot of times before they get to the Hubble Wednesday afternoon. Hopefully no nicks from debris while passing through the junk rings as well as foam fallout from the launch.
God speed STS-125 Atlantis and it's crew!
