RICHMOND | Like many dogs introduced to new environments, Gracie was a bit hesitant when she arrived at Sharon Cornett's home in Chesterfield County.

From the sights, sounds and smells in the kitchen to the layouts of the various rooms, Gracie needed some time to find a comfort zone.

"She was a little bit shy," Miss Cornett said. "But she quickly discovered that sitting on the sofa was her most favorite activity."

These days, Gracie clearly is comfortable with her home. She seems to relish her role as the official laid-back greeter when strangers visit, and if they spend some time being nice to her, it's only a matter of minutes before she snuggles up in their lap.

Pit bulls that show aggression, especially towards people or who have attacked humans need to be put down. No question about it. But there tons of loving dogs that show no aggression. A breed has been targeted by scumbags and these scumbags need to be stopped. Am Staffs and other bull terrier types need love and training just like any other dog. A dog with out training or socialization can become vicious. Even toy dogs.

It is my imagination or does the rescued pit bull look a lot like Senator Mikulski?

Thanks for that great link!

People like Michael Vick are lower than scum. I really hope that the NFL suspends him for life, because if he is ever allowed to take the field again it will be very hard for me to bring myself to watch.

I actually hope Vick plays again and uses his past to help fight against those like him. And also allow NFL D’s to sack the crap outta him!

Sweet story and I hope it has a happy ending, but personally I think all the rescued pit bulls ... considering the breed and what they went through ... should be humanely euthanized.
