Yes, I’ve made that point myself on other threads. We seperate criminals from their children all the time. Now the constitution grants children citizenship when born here so they are protected but ultimate jurisdiction lies with the parent and the country of the parent where he/she is a legal citizen. So the parent has the right/obligation to take the child back with them to their country of origin. However what the parent is doing is hiding behind their child’s citizenship in order to stay.

Exactly. I don't even understand how the Open Border Crowd can even bring up 'Family Separation' with a straight face. Anyone with ½ a brain should realize 'Separation' is a laughable argument.

No, judges do. The Constitution granted citizenship to former slaves born in the US.

People born here AND subject to the laws. It does not include visitors, foreign embassy staff, etc. It should not include children born here to people here illegally (i.e. Not subject to our immigration laws.)
