“After 26 years of marriage, I have the educational background to know that this is a subject best left alone.”
After 20 years of marriage, I was gratified to learn that my wife’s listening problems are not unique. I concur with another poster that women have extraordinary memories, e.g. recalling details of meals eaten and clothes worn at gatherings years ago. But I’ve also noticed my wife has short-term memory glitches that are consistently biased in her favor, e.g., what time we agreed to leave for an event or what time I said I would pick her up. My tentative hypothesis is that women hear what they want to hear and this newest study confirms that line of thinking, IMHO.
