ADDRESS GIVEN BY Reza Pahlavi of Iran
"Iran-US Relations At a New Cross Road" University of California Irvine Wednesday, May 6th, 2009
Members of the faculty, students, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen:
I am very happy to be back at UCI today. It is a special privilege for me to have the opportunityof addressing you at this important crossroad in the relationship between our two countries, and the significance it has for the future of peace and stability in the Middle East.
Let me begin by saying that a good university where one can study in peace and freedom may seem common place to you. But not so for many thousands of students in my homeland whose eager young minds remain constrained and constantly shackled by a closed and dogmatic atmosphere that has been ruthlessly imposed on them by an unpopular dictatorship.

You are the last person that I am trying to impress. What I said about my relatives was true. If you would of actually read beyond your pathetic ego it is not a ten times removed cousin, it is second.
No I have never chatted with the Shah and if you did it means nothing now. Your ego is hilarious and childishness. Just like you have to send your replies to me to everyone else because you are such a big man you have to say that I am ludicrous to “us”. LOL! YOU do not speak for everyone here.
Let me make this clear, I am not impressed with you at all and I will say what I want. The Mullahs are closer to nukes than the Iranians are to freeing themselves. Even if they do outside of the nukes it means nothing as Islam is not being addressed here in America.
I recognize that you are like rhino who is still living in the ME is going to be rescued by some form of “moderate” Islam. Yes you are immature and egotistical. I have friends that are experts of 30 years also who agree with me.
FACT is that no form of moderate Islam is coming to save the day.
1. As you said 1989-91 the Soviet Union was decayed, bankrupt (also politically) and the Cremling threw the towel.
If you want to compare the situation properly, look at the failed Hungarian and East German rebellions against the Soviets in the 1950’s which were brutally crushed. Also the Czechs in the 1960s.
5. Chiefly the Communist Fedayeen Khalq and the Islamomarxist Mujahedeen Khalq.
Earlier in the 1940’s and 1950’s the main Communist agent was the Tudeh Party, a wholly Soviet controlled entity that had it’s peak during the Soviet occupation of Northern Iran 1941-46. After 1953 the Tudeh practically disappeared from the scene.
Later Maoist and Marxist terrorist groups sprung up.
The Fedayeen Khalq in the late 1960s early 1970s attacked Iranian security forces, robbed banks, and carried out assassinations. By 1976 SAVAK had pretty much ended their terrorist activity. But Communist subversion (especially through the Iranian Students Organization abroad) permeatted “intellectuals” and students.
The worst were the islamomarxist Mojahedeen Khalq (MEK or MKO). They were trained by Arafat’s Palestinians. In the 1970’s they launched a terror campaign against Iranians and Americans. In 1970 they tried to kidnap US Ambassador McArthur. In 1972 they almost succeeded in assassinating US Air Force General Price. In 1973 they killed US Army Colonel Hawkins and in 1975 murdered US Air Force Colonel Turner. 1976 they murdered three American civilians from Rockwell Int. They also killed an Iranian Gendarmerie colonel in 1975.
The Mojahedeen Khalq and Marxist student organisations in late 1978 were essential parts of the protests against the Shah. These leftist elements gave the Revolution legitimacy in the eyes of idiot Western liberals. Western observers thought that the Revolution was by “progressive” students versus a “reactionary” dictator. In fact it was, like the Shah called it, the “unholy alliance of black reaction and red revolution”.
Of course the islamists were better organized and armed than the commies, and after Khomeini took control, the leftists who helped him were discarded.
Too bad both the West, including the US, and the Shah (knowing it was “the unholy alliance of Reds and Blacks” still supported & funded certain (Muslim) Establishments, which since 1979 have been called “radical Islamists” - all for their fear of the Commies.
I dunno dude...Seems to me that a lot of things that are said on this issue are common knowledge, and they do not surprise us...
What you just said is nothing new...
Just because you have read this koran and other islamic books doesn’t make you anymore of an expert than most here on this website...
So you co-host a local radio show up in NY...Good for you...That is quite a great accomplishment...
See, you’ve been a participant in the website for a little over a year...Let me extend a sincere welcome to you...
Maybe in the past I have come across “preachy” about my background and experiences, and I tend to ramble on (sometimes) about nothing important at times...But, I will never insinuate I know everything either...
There is a “tone” to your posts that I have actually seen in others before...And that is what caught my attention...
When FARS copies me on something, I pay attention, they have in the past provided information (on many issues) I may not have seen right away, and I enjoy seeing everyone’s input, even yours...
You say you’ve cracked the books on the koran and other islamic publications...Good...I have never seen the need to do that myself, because I get a sense that I will find nothing in there that will enlighten me anymore than I need to be enlightened...I would rather read the articles in a Playboy magazine myself than do that...But that is just me...
So, if I may, what do you propose we do about “radical islam”??? That is different than what we are doing now??? Obviously, it is a threat to us that will never totally go away, yet taking the fight to them has worked out pretty good so far considering...And I have a sneeky feeling you’ll come back with some general answers to those questions...And that’s ok...
Again, welcome...I’m sure you have a lot to offer to these discussions...
What FARS said is nothing new. So what that RP spoke up, he is not going to do anything than that. I went into this thread just to have a conversation and FARS came on with his overblown ego. I am not bragging, he attacked me and I responded. This is exactly why he sent the messages to me to all to get the backup that he obviously feels that he needs. Very immature. Taking the fight to them does not mean much if we do not address the problem here at home. Political Islam is even a threat to life as we know it than potential suicide bomber. The Muslim Brotherhood is behind a lot of the poltical Islam push in the West. We need to declare them a terrorist organization and ban their members and any other organizations that form from them. We also need to end all Muslim immigration, if we do not it is just a matter of time until they takeover. This is for 2 reasons. The first is that they never stop pushing and the second is simple demographics. They will out-bred us. So many people are so focused on what it happening overseas, meanwhile Islam advances here unchecked.
Have a good weekend.
Sorry. That should be political Islam is an even bigger threat to life as we know it. But I am sure you figured that out.
FARS posted this thread, and for all you know he translated it himself. I’ve seen no attacks upon you, just attempts at correction and gentle ones at that, at least initially. He has a certain amount of respect here on FR and for good reason. You, on the other hand, are fairly new here. Respect is earned. If you disagree on substantive points, then disagree and hash it out. But, you’ve engaged in personal attacks, and personal attacks are not good. Rethink your approach.
Listen this is nonsense that he is immature enough to bring other people into this. He spoke down to me and even worse in email. He did not respect me and that is what he got in return. There are plenty of personal attacks on me in this thread.
Have a good day.
Thanks for the ping!
