This would be interesting. I think he'd do better than Fiat will.

This is worthy of the NASCAR ping list.

Would this get Saturn into IndyCar as an engine supplier if the Captain bought the company?

Does the purchase price have a “+” sign in front of it? Then I’d call it dubious.

A group from Oklahoma City is also interested in buying Saturn.

I doubt whether Obama would permit it without keeping the UAW. And that would be a deal breaker.

Roger Penske used to run Team Portia, back when I raced my sports car for a season at the airport down in Huntsville, Alabama, while I was at the Army Electronics School.

They were GOOD. Fortunately, I was racing in a different class.

Fiat doesn’t want Saturn.

There are people all over the world that want to buy something, if only you the seller provide the funding/financing. LOL

Fiat doesn’t want Saturn.

My point is that I would take Penske over Fiat as better able to figure out how to market to US consumers.

Fiat has a small, extremely fast little car that’s actually quite durable and inexpensive, not to mention good on gas. Go look at the 2009 Fiat 500 Abarth and then come back and tell me that wouldn’t sell like mad over here.

Fiat 500 Abarth:

That wouldn't sell like mad over here.

How'd I do?

Then you find out the Abarth SS version has 160hp and does 0-60 in ~6.6 seconds. It will literally eat everything in its size class.

Anticipated US MSRP - $13-14K.

You're not Penske material.

You are aware ...?

Oh, yeah, forgot to mention that there’s a 200hp version coming that may be tunable to 250.... in a car that weighs 2300lbs.

F’ing rocket ship, anyone?
