MONTVILLE, N.J. A New Jersey high school student has been suspended for organizing a contest in which boys voted on the school's best-looking girls in a bracket modeled on the NCAA basketball tournament.
Mike Butrym, of Towaco, says he was continuing a Montville High School tradition and believes his five-day suspension is too harsh.
The contest was called "May Madness." Teenage boys chose 16 female students from each grade. Each day, they paired off the girls and judged them on their appearance. Winners advanced to the next round.

He was suspended for "intimidation, harassment and insubordination."
Sounds like normal High School silliness.
The only one of those charges that would not apply to Bill Clinton’s presidency would be the “insubordination”. As Al Gore put it, “no controlling legal authority”.
Worthless without pictures and brackets.
Perez Hilton probably complained that it discriminated.
Should not ALl students and other who voted be in trouble too??
It’s a good thing the priests just beat the crap out of us or I would have finished high school in juvenile hall.
This is the worst time in American History to be a child.
can’t they ALL be pretty and ALL win the contest? everyone should get a trophy! it’s for the children!
Prolly turned in by a fat chick.
They’re turning boys into girls.
FMCDH(BITS)
Let’s just close these politically correct indoctrination centers and start over. This has been done in every high school ever, except the ones that aren’t coed.
The story I’m sure could continue telling us the boy could only read at a sixth grade level because the schools he attended were to busy doing this kind of silly crap.
If he tought fisting lessons in the cafeteria he would have won a diversity award from the same administrators.
Well then, no more prom queens.
Same thing.
Glad to know that the school administrators are right on top of things. In these enlightened times, we mustn’t allow young men to act like young men. No, they must be tuned into whiny, preening little pussies who grow up to be... school administrators.
If the girls willingly participate what’s the problem? Too many ugly chicks are offended? Maybe if they put in weight classes?
Either that or by the "Gay Students Club"
That was my first thought was well. If the "pageant" had been gay in nature, then all the students would have been given Harvey-Milk Awards, full license to libel Miss California, and 100% full special-grievance-class protection & privilege for life by the approving U.S. Government.
The educrats probably said “can’t you just sext each other like ‘normal’ kids?”
ESPN Page 2 has been doing this (on various criteria, including hotness) with athletes and teams for years.
