Obama sticks with Bush-era polar bear rule

WASHINGTON - The Obama administration will retain a Bush-era rule for polar bears, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced Friday, in a move that angered activists who noted the rule limits what can be done to protect the species from global warming.

The administration had faced a weekend deadline to decide whether it should allow government agencies to cite the federal Endangered Species Act, which protects the bear, to impose limits on greenhouse gases from power plants, factories and automobiles even if the emissions occur thousands of miles from where the polar bear lives.

"We must do all we can to help the polar bear recover, recognizing that the greatest threat to the polar bear is the melting of Arctic sea ice caused by climate change," Salazar said in a statement. "However, the Endangered Species Act is not the proper mechanism for controlling our nation’s carbon emissions.

Don’t worry, folks, carbon control is coming in the form of Cap and Trade.

You gotta know that polar bears will never starve as long as one stupid liberal remains who will swim out to them and offer them a free meal./SAR

That women was taught a valuable lesson in life, I wonder if she actually learned from it.

But if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby,” Obama said, but, I love those polar bears.

Polar bears are white. In other news, many miles of backpacking trails are being made off limits to protect the brown (grizzly) bear in the lower 48.

I’ll bet his wife does not want to give birth to one of them!!
Maybe he will use CHANGE to do that for her!! So the world does not loose the polar bears.

I think polar bears should have to write grants if they want any federal money.

It’s my understanding that the Polar Bear population is very stable if not increasing. So what is the truth? If it’s anything from MSNBC then it’s suspect.

If necessary we can fly carload lots of Leftwingtards to the arctic to provide supplemental feed to the polar bears. There’s really no need for the bears to have to go out on iceflows to catch seals.

The polar bear population more than doubled in the last couple of decades. One reason being they are feasting on the seals, which have multiplied with the collapse of the seal fur market.

Pity the seals. As soon as they stop worrying about getting clubbed by trappers, they have to start worrying about getting eaten by polar bears.

Seems to me that also protects the backpackers. :^)

So if a polar bear doesn't obey the rule, who do they send to put him in jail?

Re protecting the backpackers:

Occasionally grizzly bears will get PO’d and eat a hiker. Polar bears actively seek them out as a dietary supplement.

In Obama’s defense, using polar bear health impacts as the marginal determinant for the environmental viability of projects thousands of miles away seems to have been too overtly wacky even for him... now.

Well, considering that the expedition that they sent out to measure the “melting Arctic ice” came back with the report that the ice is building, not melting, in fact the ice was reported to be 200% thicker than expected, Obama had no choice.

Do a google search on Expedition finds that Arctic Ice is not melting.
