She knew from the beginning. According to a CIA document compiled by the Director of National Intelligence summarizing briefings to Congress on the use of enhanced interrogation techniques on terrorist detainees, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca) knew from the very beginning that those techniques -- including waterboarding -- were being used on September 2, 2002.
According to the memo the very first briefing listed is 9/4/02 with then Rep. Porter Goss & Pelosi. The summary of the briefing says:
Briefing on EITs including use of EITs on Abu Zubaydah, background on authorities, and a description of the particular EITs that had been employed.
This directly contradicts Pelosis story, that we were not told that waterboarding or any of these other enhanced interrogation methods were used.
As HUMAN EVENTS reported earlier, Pelosi - by objecting to the use of the enhanced interrogation techniques - could have stopped them but didn't.
Pelosi's misstatements were apparently intended to divert attention from her and other Democrats in Congress who knew of all the enhanced interrogation methods -- in detail -- apparently as soon as they were being used.
A lot of this anti CIA bs seems to be out of the old Jimmy Carter playbook on how to weaken and destroy the CIA.
Will we see the exposure via the mediots of in field CIA agents and assets as was done by the mediots with the help of Carter.
So she was for it before she was against it. Shocker.
“Misstater,” “misstater,” skirt on fire!
We learned it as ‘Liar, Liar, PANTS on fire,” but since her face isn’t even original...LOL.
It’s no better at 10:00 a.m.
I wonder what would happen if we all wrote letters to the editors of our local and regional newspapers about this? Would they even print it?
Liar, liar, pantsuit on fire.
I have to say I’m encouraged the vast majority of comments in the WaPo are anti-Pelosi, though some comically go so far as lumping her and 0bama in with that “war criminal” Bush.

Today, I am slack-jawed to read that members claim to have not understood that the techniques on which they were briefed were to actually be employed; or that specific techniques such as “waterboarding” were never mentioned. It must be hard for most Americans of common sense to imagine how a member of Congress can forget being told about the interrogations of Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed. In that case, though, perhaps it is not amnesia but political expedience.
Let me be clear. It is my recollection that:
— The chairs and the ranking minority members of the House and Senate intelligence committees, known as the Gang of Four, were briefed that the CIA was holding and interrogating high-value terrorists.
— We understood what the CIA was doing.
— We gave the CIA our bipartisan support.
— We gave the CIA funding to carry out its activities.
— On a bipartisan basis, we asked if the CIA needed more support from Congress to carry out its mission against al-Qaeda.
I do not recall a single objection from my colleagues. They did not vote to stop authorizing CIA funding. And for those who now reveal filed “memorandums for the record” suggesting concern, real concern should have been expressed immediately — to the committee chairs, the briefers, the House speaker or minority leader, the CIA director or the president’s national security adviser — and not quietly filed away in case the day came when the political winds shifted. And shifted they have.
Circuses are not new in Washington, and I can see preparations

*******
This was published by the Washington Post but buried in a Saturday paper.
I do not recall one Sunday morning show mentioning this article.
A Dem lied!! She lied!! I am shocked !! Shocked!!
Say it ain’t so!!
Yep. If this had been a GOP Speaker the outrage by the press would last for a month. We won't hear a word about it in the MSM...
She needs to step down NOW!!!
Also, Pelosi lied and was willing to stand by or actively participate in the process of sending Americans to prison for their advice on something she was briefed on. This goes beyond a politician simply playing CYA. To me, this is evil.
You bet there is and it sure will be fun to watch!
To bad though that neither the CIA nor the Democrats are doing what is best for the country and are simply playing politics.
Of course, a lot can be said that destroying Pelosi and Obama are what is best for the country, hard to argue against that.
So Obama has decided the best way to make sure the W-H and the Speaker maintain a positive working relationship and cooperate fully together in these tough economic times is to tell the world that she is a lying sack. I bet Pelosi spewed her Chardonnay all over hu$band Paul when she heard this.
I LOVE IT!!!
Have they started addressing her as Madam Liar yet?
Have they started addressing her as Madam Liar yet?
She got all that plastic surgury so she could lie STRAIGHT-FACED!
Yet they made a big fuss over the Plame nothingburger.
“Yet they made a big fuss over the Plame nothingburger.”
That was shameful and was about nothing.
