What exactly would the money be used for? It seems odd you would need that kind of money to close a prison.

I have no idea. It is such a waste. For all we know it is to pay the ACLU for defending the terrorists.

Possibly to build a new prison for them. WHAT A FREAKING WASTE!!! Gitmo is ideal for them now. It is all about Obama wanting our enemies to have rights. It is a sad day in America this marxist fool is ruining our country by the seconds... every day.

Because Odumba would need to build a new facility or retrofit a military base somewhere to move them too.

I’m half suspicious that the administration encouraged the stripping of the original request behind the scenes and this new request is just more political theater for the foaming at the mouth left because the WH and the smarter dems realize that closing Gitmo is permanent political death if even one former detainee creates a disturbance of any kind on US soil.

If an unemployed Ughar commits armed robbery or gets drunk and shoots up his apartment the proverbial you know what will hit the fan and spray the democrat party with excrement.
