WASHINGTON – The fuse that could ignite an explosion of Islamic militancy in Afghanistan and Pakistan is burning so fast that the Obama administration is scrambling to keep pace.

As Pakistan's army finally opened a belated offensive against the advance of extremist Taliban fighters, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and his key security ministers huddled Wednesday with their Afghan and U.S. counterparts in all-day meetings in Washington.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai started the day on a solemn note, acknowledging Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's expressions of regret for the deaths of dozens of Afghan civilians killed during Monday's battle between U.S. forces and the Taliban.

Obama and the green flag of Islam

Am I the only one made uncomfortable by the sight of that big Crescent over Obama's shoulder?

Sorry folks, but, shortly we'll be having to put a fork in it. Pakistan, that is. And, shortly thereafter, Afghanistan. A few months later, Iraq.

Pakistan is nothing but an irritation to Obama right now while he's concentrating his time and efforts on turning the U.S. into a socialist economy. Obama's biggest goal is that socialization of the country, and, everything else is just a nuisance and a distraction. He'll have major success in his "socialization" of the country, and the country will suffer the consequences. Meanwhile the world becomes a lot more dangerous with the Taliban in charge of a country with nuclear weapons.

We are going to be losing both at home and abroad. While we become weaker economically, the world becomes a lot more dangerous. With Obama, we won't have the power nor the will to fight the enemy. But, we'll have to fight that enemy sooner or later.

But, perhaps that's been his plan all along. A weaker U.S. that won't be able to stop the spread of the Taliban and Islam.

I cannot even begin to imagine how you must feel about that. Your brother can count on lots of prayers here and I am sure that he has the best of the best around him.

Thank you so much for your prayers....of course he is excited more than anything, he has been training and working on the MRAP (new mine resistant vehicles), so they do feel more safe than in Iraq, he was there for 3 years.

These men are something to behold, and I thank God for them!

I have said it all along...his goal is to reduce American and Israeli power.

He and his kind believe that WE are the problem.

Pakistan is a tinder box and Obama is sending mixed signals by saying he might negotiate with “moderate” Taliban. If Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal falls into the hands of the Taliban and thus to Islamic terrorists the world will be a very dangerous place indeed. I could see both India and Israel doing what ever was necessary to prevent Pakistani nukes from getting under Taliban control.

“Acknowledging that “the road ahead will be difficult,” Obama said he has made a “lasting commitment” to not only defeat extremism in both countries but to salvage their shaky democracies.

“No matter what happens we will not be deterred,” Obama said Wednesday with Zardari and Karzai standing at his side in the White House.

Earlier, as the summit began, Clinton called the gathering a “breakthrough meeting,” telling reporters the sessions covered trade, water sharing, military training and anti-corruption drives among other issues.

“We are facing a common enemy, and we have, therefore, made common cause together,” Clinton said at a ceremonial opening, also flanked by Karzai and Zardari in her department’s ornate Benjamin Franklin Room.

While encouraged, the Obama team faces an extended and costly task in both countries. It has a solid plan for success, but there is no certainty the America people will sustain the patience needed, nor that the U.S. Treasury has sufficient dollars. “

“”It has a solid plan for success, but there is no certainty the America people will sustain the patience needed, nor that the U.S. Treasury has sufficient dollars. “”

The journalists did not say that of Bush’s plans.
The whole article is a load of crap. It it only shows that they don’t know what the hell they are doing.
