LOL. I watched, all told, a season of 24. The last half of 3 and the first 2 episodes of 4, I think.
But I was getting dumber with each wathcing.
The show is mind-numbingly predictable, with, as far as I can tell, the same plot line for each episode, to wit:
1. Episode begins, Jack in trouble from the end of last week.
2. Jack puts his trust in someone to help him get out of trouble.
3. Person double crosses Jack.
4 People are shot.
5. Things blow up.
6. Jack saves the day (hour) but ends up in trouble doing so.
7. Wait a week, and return to step 1
I'm beginning to think that CTU is in charge of securing our southern border.
If you haven’t seen the latest season then you are missing out. . . I really had 24 fatigue after the last one, but this season is much better.
For starters the set moved from LA to DC and so it’s remarkable how serious everything gets after that
Yo! They simply "borrowed" the plots from the Saturday serials I attended at the local theater in the 1930's.
Same idea; a miraculous escape from the impossible danger of last weeks serial ending. Some action between start and finish with another impossible situation facing the hero. All week, we kids would discuss the probable end of the hero, so we naturally showed up with our nickel at the next episode.
The serial I remember vividly was the Lone Ranger. It was the genesis of the later Lone Ranger movies, radio and television shows.
