Are you absolutely certain?
Just kidding...I love to use your line with my universalist acquaintances.
2) McCarthy was right. So are the bishops. I take this caterwauling from the left as proof that the bishops are right.
“It is unfair that a Catholic presidential nominee or a Catholic United States senator or member of Congress who personally opposes abortion but has genuine convictions that a blanket anti-abortion law would not work in a pluralistic society can be randomly refused communion by any bishop who so decide”
This is nothing more than a “cop out” by a whore politician, who wants it both ways. Kudos to the clergy who uphold the laws of the church.....if these pols don’t like it they should find another religion.....possibly Islam.
Hey, Clint. God says that killing innocent babies is wrong. Want to argue with Him about it?
A former student of mine, then Bro. McDaid, was ordained last year and was immediately assigned to San Francisco in Nancy Pelosi’s district. He confronted her and said she was so botoxed up, even angry, she couldn’t stop smiling.
LOL. The exception proves the rule. Huh???
Yep.
What is really unfair is that we have the government interfering with the justice of the auto da fe and burning the CINO pro-aborts at the stake.
This is standard bait-and-switch from a career San Francisco liberal liar. He talks of laws mandating the criminalization of abortion; he fails to mention the defeat of the Coburn Amendment in the US Senate, the result of which is to criminalize the invocation of conscience by health care professionals in refusing to be forced to commit abortions.
Lying liberal.
But I repeat myself.
"A boldface example of the intolerance for alternative views in the public square that is emerging in the Catholic Church is the push to ban President Barack Obama from speaking at Notre Dame University because of his pro-choice position on abortion."
No, it's not. It's common decency not to have a pro-abortion maniac receive an honorary doctorate and crap all over a commencement at a Catholic university. Obama is free to be the funky, cool black president using U.S. tax dollars to fund abortion and global depopulation all over the world, if he wants to. And we are free to criticize him. Since when did free speech in America become Verboten, eh? No bucktoothed yahoo bozo can order pro-life Catholics to shut up about this. Good grief!
It's a sleazy, ugly trick trying to play the race card on this one. He should be ashamed of himself. And, NO, he should NOT be allowed to speak because of his pro-abortion and Malthusian depopulationist views. If Obama were a student at Notre Dame he should have been expelled for these evil opinions. His is unworthy of a Notre Dame degree for being part of the culture of death. Period. No pro-abortionist has the right to demand a platform at ND or a Notre Dame degree. Does this bozo realize that were the One a Catholic he would be excommunicated latae sententiae and considered deserving of hell, eternal damnation??? What bozo thinks Satan's servants should preside at Notre Dame commencements?
Since when did that bother any of the so-called "Catholic" politicians who have already excommunicated themselves but continue to attend Mass for photo ops, because the priests in their liberal districts don't have the balls to tell them they're not welcome until they see the error of their ways.
The Holy Spirit departs from them and their souls stop working after they have started down this path. In the case of the pro-abortion politicians who persist in claiming to be Catholic, they must have lost their faith long before they began articulating the "personally opposed, but" position. So they are "personally opposed"? Well, then how would voting against partial-birth abortion (a gruesome and horrifying procedure)be a violation of the supposed right to control one's body? It doesn't add up.
Ted Kennedy was a seasoned violator of the Commandments a LONG time before Roe vs. Wade came along. Perverts and serial adulterers tend to be big advocates and defenders of abortion.
And Obama has expressed that the killing of newborns with serious medical problems is OK too.
Also, the lack of backbone of the modernist Americanist bishops, while an absurd modern cultural phenomenon in itself, in no way lessens the gravity or moral evil of those who support abortion, embryonic stem cell research, Malthusian depopulation programs, or euthanasia. They are still excommunicated automatically de facto whether or not the sentence of excommunication latae sententiae is offically declared. Although "the One" is not a Catholic, and may not even be a sincere Christian of any kind, his support for these evils is still morally wrong and deserving of admonishment and penalties.
The writer is quite wrong to try to skew this into a stereotyped liberal American issue of race and tolerance. Obama disqualified himself for this honor at ND. Those pointing this out are merely speaking the truth and identifying the grave evil.
This hack does perform a minor public service: He calls attention to the excretions of retired (what a lovely word) Archbishop John Quinn. Quinn and other pro-abortion bishops like him are the reason we are where we are today.
