EXCLUSIVE: Secret U.S.-Israel nuclear accord in jeopardy
The Washington Times ^ | May 6, 2009 | Eli Lake

President Obama's efforts to curb the spread of nuclear weapons threaten to expose and derail a 40-year-old secret U.S. agreement to shield Israel's nuclear weapons from international scrutiny, former and current U.S. and Israeli officials and nuclear specialists say.

The issue will likely come to a head when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meets with Mr. Obama on May 18 in Washington. Mr. Netanyahu is expected to seek assurances from Mr. Obama that he will uphold the U.S. commitment and will not trade Israeli nuclear concessions for Iranian ones.

Assistant Secretary of State Rose Gottemoeller, speaking Tuesday at a U.N. meeting on the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), said Israel should join the treaty, which would require Israel to declare and relinquish its nuclear arsenal.

"Universal adherence to the NPT itself, including by India, Israel, Pakistan and North Korea, ... remains a fundamental objective of the United States," Ms. Gottemoeller told the meeting, according to Reuters.

She declined to say, however, whether the Obama administration would press Israel to join the treaty.

A senior White House official said the administration considered the nuclear programs of Israel and Iran to be unrelated "apples and oranges."

The only secret that matters to him is the combination to the safe that holds his birth certificate.

“Hussein would love to see Israel vulnerable to its enemies.”

This SOB is the absolute worst thing to befall the United States. He is setting the stage for destruction on a massive scale.

No surprises here.

The minute that Obama was voted in as the US President, everyone knew that the US support for anyone resisting islamism would be curtailed.

Israel can forget about US support, it will be eroded covertly by Obama, and will be abruptly withdrawn should Israel act against any of it`s Middle East enemies.

Israel should expect no more support from the US than it does from Europe.

That would potentially be the proverbial last straw.

The Republicans had better get their sh*t together, and YESTERDAY.

They may not have the votes to stop much, but they have voices. They better start using them and using them LOUDLY.
I wanna see our side (early and often) hollering about what this reckless administration is doing, preferably before we end up in another war!

For the first time in my life, I find myself wondering if this joint will be around long enough for me to be a grandma. (When it’s time, which isn’t now. And in case you’re reading, son....don’t get any bright ideas!)

I’m just sayin’.....

GOD, please protect the Nation of Israel from harm and please protect the Christians in America that support her.

Amen.

Dont expect much from Republicans.

We havent gotten much from them lately and I dont expect any change.

I still am amazed that American Jews voted overwhelmingly for Obma. Must be a death wish on their part.

I am listening to Joel Rosenberg’s ‘Inside the Revolution’. It is amazing how similar the o and Iamanutjob are - especially in their rise in politics.

“Behold, the Day of the LORD is coming, (the coming “Apocalypse”)

And your spoil will be divided in your midst.

For I (God) will gather ALL the nations to battle

against Jerusalem”

(Zechariah 14:1-2)

“For behold, in those days and at that time,

When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, (sometime after 1948)

I will also gather ALL nations,

And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; (outside Jerusalem)

And I will enter into judgment with them there

On account of My people, My heritage Israel,

Whom they have scattered among the nations;

They have also DIVIDED up My Land.” (Israel)

What else would one expect when voting for a “Barack Hussein Obama”?

Unfortunately it shows that our nation is being run by incompetents.

Israel: No change in US nuclear policy

Jerusalem has downplayed a remark by a top US official who said Tuesday that Israel should join the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), a pact intended to limit the spread of nuclear weapons.

"Universal adherence to the NPT itself, including by India, Israel, Pakistan and North Korea...remains a fundamental objective of the United States," Assistant Secretary of State Rose Gottemoeller was quoted by Reuters as saying at a meeting of NPT signatories.

Gottemoeller would not say whether the US intended to press Israel to join the treaty.

Former prime minister Ariel Sharon's chief strategist, Dov Weisglass, said Gottemoeller's comments were very alarming.

"If these statements indicate a change in American policy on this issue, I believe this may be the most worrisome development for Israel's security in many years," he told Army Radio.

But later on Wednesday, a Foreign Ministry official was quoted by Israel Radio as saying the statement did not signal a significant policy change from the United States.

Hussein to cut a deal with the mullahs by throwing Israel under the bus?

Hussein would do this in a heartbeat.

And just as certain, the mullahs, having gotten what they wanted, would renege on the deal.
