The Senate dealt a blow tonight to Sen. Arlen Specter's hold on seniority in several key committees, a week after the Pennsylvanian's party switch placed Democrats on the precipice of a 60-seat majority.
In a unanimous voice vote, the Senate approved a resolution that added Specter to the Democratic side of the dais on the five committees on which he serves, an expected move that gives Democrats larger margins on key panels such as Judiciary and Appropriations.

This idiot should have pulled a Lieberman and gone Independent. His move made ZERO sense.
Specter is an idiot.
HAR. DEE. HAR. HAR!!!!
Choke on it, Specter. You are a slimy little bitch.
The devil always finds a way to short-change you, and then he comes for your soul shortly thereafter.
If Specter doesm’t win the primary, Obama won’t have to keep his promise anyway.
Colin Bowel! LOLOL!
I don’t know if I’m laughing harder over that or over Arlen’s plight! LOL!
“What horror movie was that picture from?”
The United States Senate.
I agree completely. He’s screwed. Even if he wises up and runs as an Independent now, nobody’s going to vote for someone who dissed both sides one after the other.
Oh come on....every horror movie fan knows the original Night of the Living Dead was made in Pennsylvania!
He is now Senator Irrelevant.
Suck on it, Arlen!
You there, Specter Ephialtes, may you live forever!
Oh I’m cryin’! LOLOL!
So he’s screwing the Dems, and they’re screwing him?
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy! Love that Pelosi and Reid promised he wouldn’t lose his seniority!! Bwahahaha~talk about schadenfreude!
And this little ironic tidbit—IF he wins his next election he’ll get his seniority back—LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!
Mary Jane just laughed and laughed because she knew Arlen was never getting re-elected again!
On the serious side, prayers going up for him. I think he honestly believed the lies he was told.
I do not hail from PA. If he’s that important to them then so be it.
The cowardly traitor tastes his bitter fruit.
I don’t really care, but your numbers don’t add up. If 300,000 Republicans are needed to save Spector’s behind in a Democratic primary, it would seem that the Democrats don’t like him. And since he left the Republican Party because he was behind over 20%, it would seem that the Republicans don’t like him either. That leaves the Independents, Communists, and the like who are hardly likely to be a significant portion of the electorate. So, it seems highly unlikely that he would need any Republican votes if “People in PA love him.”
