Not to mention that the US promise of intervention allows greater Europe to underfund its own defense and rely on American military spending. This allows American liberals to wonder at how Europe can afford to spend on niceties for their population that we as Americans must buy as individuals.

NATO is the most powerful military force in the world. We should see to it that it remains so. We won Europe fair and square and we should never give it up.
