At best it would close 1-2% of the states shortfall.

But it’s a big if that CA could tax it. I don’t see many companies selling pot due to the long arm of the Federal Government through the D.E.A. and Justice Department. So most sales will probably still be by dealers or at least under the table so tax collections would be pretty minimal.

Unless you get the Fed’s to drop their laws, which I would totally support, there is not much States can do.
