..and her “making good” would, naturally, include marrying Levi. Right?

This is like Keith Richards telling people not to do drugs.
(You know what Keith, we cant do any drugs. Youve already done them all.)

This is like Keith Richards telling people not to do drugs. No, it is not (unless Bristol Palin intends to have more children out of wedlock, and in perpetuity).

Absolutely! I commend her.

The article is shamefully vague as to how Bristol is going to keep teen girls baby-free. Given the fact that Bristol has said "abstinence is unrealistic," does that mean she's going to be demonstrating birth control?
Life in this new era of conservative family values is very confusing.

With this being the AP, Im a bit surprised the reported this at all, or did not use some more disparaging term than unwed mother. ...........................”Wait, you ain’t heard nothing yet”, give them a little time. Come 2012 I’m sure the MSM will pump it up.

She has already finished high school and is on to college work. As for staying home, have you not heard of correspondence or online coursework?

I should have said care for her 4 month old son and finish her education.

So if a guy gets drunk, gets into an accident hurts someone and then sees the error of his ways he should never tell anyone about the dangers of drunk driving?
Okay I get it now.
If I ever make a mistake and see that others could learn from it I won’t say anything, I’ll just sit in my house and be ashamed of myself for the rest of my life.

Corrollary: People who’ve never touched a drop should lecture on the perils of drunk driving. (I don’t get the logic, either).

If a guy goes on national television and says drinking while sober is "unrealistic," you might not want him for your next M.A.D.D. public service announcement.

I think that is a false analogy. I do think Bristol Palin should tell everyone that they should not have sex unless they are prepared to accept the adult responsibilities of raising a child, something Levi is obviously not ready for. However, now that she has a 4 month old son her first priority should be caring for him and not traveling around the country participating in townhall discussions.

If there's a more scary warning about the effects of drugs than the sight of Keith Richards, I don't want to see it.

Too bad the guy was a loser, but then I don’t know the whole story.

With all due respect, we need as much light on the life issues as possible in this increasingly secular humnanistic, Culture of Death we live in.
I’m sure the Palins have the resources to care for their grandbaby while mom sets a great example of standing up after an intensely personal mistake. This isn’t going to be easy, but things worth doing seldom ever are.

Amen. And Levi should grow up, be a man, and marry her.
