Anyone who monitors all this stuff as closely as a talk radio guy, or even all of us on Free Republic, would have a tendency to get depressed. That is, of course, if this country really matters to you. I can sense a tangible amount of concern listening to Rush Limbaugh these days, a level of concern I never heard from him before. Dennis Prager, same thing. Mark Levin, really concerned. This country really matters to Savage, right and wrong matter to Savage, and he’s sick of how corrupted this country has become. I recognize he goes over the top many times to make his point, but I find myself doing the same thing on this site, and when talking to people I know, trying to get their attention. Sometimes you have to get aggressive, or push people’s buttons, to make people listen. I admire Savage for being willing to do that, knowing the heat he will most certainly take in response.

I’ve sensed that also as a 15 year listener, and I’m thinking the our personal concern should be levels of magnitude higher than can be expressed on national radio.
Savage has been more blunt, especially when he was a local Bay Area show host, and I think very leading edge long before others could mention it on a national level. I’ve listened to Savage long before his national show and have to admit his ideas shocked me when first heard, but he sure has been accurate IMO, these years later.
