Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney joked about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palins place on Times list of influential people, saying, But was that the issue on the most beautiful people or the most influential people?
In an interview on CNNs State of the Union broadcast Sunday, Romney was responding to a question from the moderator as to whether Times inclusion of Palin and talk show host Rush Limbaugh on their list of The Worlds Most Influential People was a positive or negative thing for the Republican Party.
Romney added, I think there are a lot more influential Republicans than that would suggest.
After his boss caught flak for his apparent dissing of Palin, Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom spun the comment as just a self-deprecating joke as to why there werent more Republicans on the list, according to a report in Politico.
I think there are 100 influential Republicans alone who have tremendous ideas and I hope that we can all work together to accomplish what we believe is best for America, Palin said through a spokeswoman.

Romney sounds more and more like another Wendel Wilkie.
Sorry, no. Allow me to clarify: Mitt is a RINO because he subscribes to dangerously stupid liberal policies and panders to anyone who listens.
Mitt being afraid of Sarah Palin makes him a cowardly piece of garbage.
See the difference? :D
Slick Mitt is just jealous because he think’s he more beautiful than Sarah is.
you’ve noticed that, too? It is one reason I always go elsewhere to get my Palin news.
Romney you need to go third party, maybe Democrat Lite!
Oh, never fear, if she decides to run for POTUS, the mroe I see of her the more convinced I am that I would join up to work for her here in Arizona... BTW in addition to cutting spending 16.7% in Alaska, did you know she’s backing a ballot measure to bypass the Legislature and make it illegal for teenagers to get an abortion without telling their parents.... and under her leadership TransCanada has now officially filed for a pipeline license agreement from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. This is a pipeline multiple other governors from both parties were not able to move forward, but under her leadership as soon as FERC gives its approval will not have natural gas flowing down to the lower 48 by 2018... oh, and the NRA is honoring the governor with a special Alaskan-themed rifle...
It’s kind of hard not to notice an elephant in the room, or in this case, a forum. Like you, I have other places I go in order to read the news and commentary. Wouldn’t make sense not to do that. When folks spend too much time in one place they tend to lose perspective.

Yes, I knew of her latest accomplishments and efforts. We live here, in Alaska.
While I think she’d be a great president, and we’ll support her again if she runs, it’ll be another bittersweet moment. Hate to lose a Governor like Sarah Palin. And when I get real mad at the lower 48, I say they don’t deserve her. ;)
I figured you were up there with Caribou in your name... I wish more people would get out of the echo chamber and actually do research instead of just spewing forth with dribble.
“Echo chamber”. Yep, that describes it quite well. And I quit playing “follow the leader” when I was kid.
Hope to visit your state someday. Preferably when the it’s 50 below here.
Reagan wasn’t electable either
My neighbors are from Alaska, they spend the winter here and summer there... when we hit 80 they are dieing from the heat and have to head north ~LOL~ and we think 80 is cold...
Ah, snowbirds for neighbors, heh? Hope to be a snowbird someday too. We had 72 here over the weekend and had to take to the shade to cool off now and then. It’s all what you’re accustomed too. Maybe someday I could get used to 80 degrees above zero. That’d be a nice change. ;)
Mitt is such an insecure moron. Does he think his comments will win conservatives to him???
~LOL~ talk about extremes... we get to 125 - 128 in June, July, August... then in October someone draws the shade and we cool down into the 90’s to 100... then when we are freezing in December and January the snowbirds are all walking around in shorts and sandels.
125 - 128! Holy caribou crap, those temps would kill me. Guess I’ll stick to that idea of visiting in the winter months.
90 to 100 wouldn’t be so bad if I could be held under water until it cooled off. I’ve heard that your hill country (like small mountains?) is cooler than the rest of the state. I was hoping for temps in the 60 to 70 degree range in the winter months.
In the winter you will get 50 - 70’s with freezing temperatures a few nights. Right now it is ten minutes to ten and my computer says we have a temperature of 88... very comfortable I might add, but I suspect you would melt. My neighbors daughter just came in for two weeks and then they will close it up for the year and return in October; my husband said the daughter was laying out working on her tan today.
Yeah, that was a great quote. Thanks for sharing the memory.
