I understand that they are removing references to an American hero and making them some sort of Global force.That was the original screenplay idea, and it was poo-pooed overwhelmingly in test pitches. GI Joe as we see it in the theater will be an all-American force, just like we remember.

I understand that they are removing references to an American hero and making them some sort of Global force. I believe that was just an internet rumor or early idea that was floated but the production is closer to the original concept of a US force...
