Jeb Bush, GOP: Time to leave Reagan behind Party leaders go on 'listening tour' with eyes on future By Joseph Curl (Contact) | Sunday, May 3, 2009
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Saturday that it's time for the Republican Party to give up its "nostalgia" for the heyday of the Reagan era and look forward, even if it means stealing the winning strategy deployed by Democrats in the 2008 election.

I hate to interrupt your delirious ranting with facts, but here's an actual quote by Mr. Bush from the article:
"We have principles, we have values. They are the values that are shared by the majority of Americans, there's no question about it. But we have to now take those principles and values and apply them to the challenges that our country faces today and in the future. ...
"And then, hopefully - God willing - [we] embrace our conservative principles and take these new ideas and present them to the American people."
What could any conservative in his right mind possibly object to in these quotations?

Time to leave Jeb behind.
And I've never once heard Rush pull any punches when it came to defending Reagan; and I've heard him scorch Bush (and Jeb, regarding the no-drilling) when appropriate.
But I think you're looking a little too deeply at motivations. The Bush's, despite their Texas influences, are at heart NE Republicans, which is to say, more RINO than Texan. I think briefly in 1990-91 we got the Texan GHW Bush, and from 2002-2004 we got the Texan W. The rest of the time, we got the RINOs.

Gee party hack... seems the author of the article and true Conservatives know exactly what the rino bush from Florida meant... you can read the title?
You need to go read Jim's post yesterday... heed it as a warning... you and the rest of the bush moderates put party and winning above Country and GOD... NO MORE! There is but one way forward... and Reagan laid it out... all we need to do is start up where Ronaldo Magnus left off... Reagan had just gotten started. He had faith that we would carry on... but bush I failed him and the Nation.

the author of the article and true Conservatives I thought that's what you were falling for.
Shame on Mr. Curl. Authors of NEWS articles aren't supposed write articles which are either overtly Conservative or Liberal. They're just supposed to accuratel report what happened.
And you're supposed to be able discern and object to violations of this principle.

Precisely. You have to go to something he didn't say to find something to gripe about.

When I read your posts I discern, “I am a rino... I put winning and my party above principle and GOD... I will embrace gay marriage if it will allow my party to win... I will surrender to al qaeda if it allows my party to win... I will trash the Constitution if it allows my party to win... I will order Reagan and his vision into the trash dump if it allows my party to win... I am a republican first... before any other thing”.
I see very clearly Mr. Cedric... and I see right through you!

Coming from a person such as you... I wear your insults as a badge of honor. I know that I am on the right side and you are not... because the only time you catch flak is when you are over target and dropping bombs on the enemy... and you ilk is the enemy of Freedom and Liberty..

dropping bombs on the enemy You lack the requisite fortitude to attack the real enemy.
That's why you attack RINOs with such disproportionate hostility.
What I object most to, however, is that in the process of doing so, you act in a distinctly un-Reaganlike manner, while constantly invoking his name.
I find this to be deplorable.

Let me remind you that Reagan was a real man... and if you watch the video of him at CPAC where he declared, “I paid for this microphone”... you will see what Reagan did when faced with repubics like you. JESUS also threw the money changers out of the Temple... bodily smashing their tables and throwing them out physically. If you do not have the stomach to fight against people that want to control your every thought and move... then be nice and get out of the way and stop fighting against those that fight for you... unless you are truly one of "them".

Reagan didn't snarl and foam at the mouth and demand people be thrown out of the party.
Indeed, he authored the 11th commandment.
You do his memory shame.

Your liberal posts shame this site... and I do not foam at the mouth and snarl... but I am guilty of letting someone with absolutely no legitimacy at all to get under my skin. I tire of playing with you for now... enjoy your delusions! Is that "nice" enough for you.
Since I refer to rinos... and they are Republicans In Name Only... then I am not speaking ill of Republicans after all. He said plenty about those that would have us give up our core beliefs to win elections too... but then you know little past invoking his name... it is far too obvious.
