yep, catastrophic is the way to go.

It is better than going without anything.

I don’t know what people did before insurance,,perhaps things weren’t so expensive. Certainly we pay more for high tech, new treatmens and the litigation problems.

And that is my point. Things were not so expensive. The expense of medical care has been driven up by insurance companies and the government rolling over and paying whatever the hospitals/doctors demand.

I realize that new technology costs, but the increase in health care costs far outwheighs the cost of the new technology treatments. We are being gouged in order to force the issue of Socialized Medicine.

June Carter Cash (Johnny Cash’s wife) told this story in one of her books about visiting one of her daughters in a hospital in England (socialized medicine). She was appalled at the treatment her daughter recieved. She demanded a private room or transfer to another hospital and was told that the could not do it because of the National Health care laws. Even with her celebrity, money and some power she could not get better treatment for her daughter.

It will be worse here and for us ‘little people’.

What we need to do is make the health care industry more free market, that will lower the prices. Mandatory insurance will only drive the prices up more and the quality down.
