Noonan expressed her belief that, subconsciously, Americans are wandering through their days with a sense of things being, “Off the tracks and hurtling forward, toward an unknown destination.”

Everything…A sense of unreality in our courts so deep that they think they can seize grandma’s house to build a strip mall; our media institutions imploding–the spectacle of a great American newspaper, the New York Times, hurtling off its own tracks, as did CBS…

A sense of unreality…yes…and illusions, too.

Some might argue that what is coming “off the tracks” are the easy illusions of 20th century America: The perhaps naive notions that our elected leaders actually seek office to serve the public good. That the press is interested only in presenting the truth, no matter what. That our courts are peopled with lofty higher beings and geniuses who know better than the rest of us. That our churches are both safe havens and by-ways to heaven.

There was a time in America when all of those statements would have been accepted at face value. In our nation’s babyhood we believed and we trusted all the parent figures - the governments, the courts, the press, the churches.

“They” know this, and are engaging in counterintelligence at the Tea Parties.

That’s when I woke up as well. Your post reflects the snippet from an article I just posted.

Strange, I was wondering if anyone had an Obama picture out there with the caption “Love Big Brother”? I would think by now there were a few around. Searched Yahoo photos, nothing around, but there are Bush ones.

“52% of the Americans are morons!”

Really. They are. Foolish, self centered morons. And likely soon to become abjectly miserable morons.

“The liberal media was absolutely brutal towards (Bork).”

As was the Senate Judiciary Committee, presided over by Biden, that introduced the term “borking”.

If you cower away from this likelihood, you have lost already and you have let down the Founders of this country and your fellow citizens.

I am now completely convinced that Americans have no understanding what-so-ever, regarding the “true” meaning of Liberty & Freedom. What else could explain the election of a marxist and subsequently, acceptance of his appointments of complete traitors to the U.S.A.?

While some do seem to be waking up and realizing just what is being done, others have been completely fooled into believing that “catastrophic” is just a word in Webster’s.

We are in such danger, that I expect any day to wake up to headlines declaring the ‘end’ of all that we once knew. No more easy access to food, travel or even work (the latter already happening). The dominoes are falling and and we are only a fraction of distance from the last row. The jolt will be sudden and brutal.

There is no way out of this nightmare without bloodshed. No way will we see ‘free’ elections again (which I’ve said even before 11-4-08) and anyone thinking 2010 will be the 1994 during Clinton’s nosedive are completely deluded. We’ve had it and civil unrest is going to turn to civil war; leaving us even more vulnerable to external enemies.

There is a section in the Bible describing how in those days, people will seek death and it will elude them (not a quote, just a summary).

Death would be far less painful than watching the complete destruction of the United States of America....but alot of us have many years ahead and our hand will be FORCED.

They are playing with the coup. They truly believe it is the time to usher in a full democrat-socialist benevolent dictatorship. I mean that literally. Obama and his are now openly *dictating* the smallest details of our lives.

There is a line that they must not cross. Nobody really knows where it is, but anyone can see they are headed straight towards it at 100 mph.

Just read an article by Garet Garrett. He said the revolution took place in the era of FDR. It is an excellent paper and you can find it at:

So what, let em record it. These thoughts will all probably become openly known soon enough anyway. Also, it’s not proper to bury our thoughts OR our guns in the face of a socialist coup. They will ultimately have to use force on us to finish their work. And we Americans arent vichy french, peaceful dutch, or good germans.

We are currently only using words, so they should listen carefully. Ive never seen anything like the tea party. Is it so wrong to simply observe, that one side is determined to enslave and disarm a group that is firm about being free and armed? Only the blind cannot see where that leads.

The whirring hard drives should be documenting democrat treason, or the masters of those drives are just as guilty as the democrats. These NSA types should look at the fates of SS, Gestapo, Stasi, etc,, secret services never fare well when the oppressors are thrown out.

I disagree. If you recall, by the time Nixon died, he had largely rehabilitated his reputation on foreign policy. He had three best sellers and was widely sought for television interviews. We forget that now.

Sarah Palin is still doing a fine job of governor of Alaska. She is not ruined. Her only real problem was McCain's impulsiveness and a lax national leadership within the Republican Party which was complacent in its position of power and lost everything for its arrogance. A well run Republican Party would have told McCain that they had more longer range plans for Palin and would have provided the consultants to make her ready for prime time and managed the press access to her despite McCain's short term considerations.

Clarence Thomas is actively sought for speaking engagements and is widely respected for his opinions when he gives them. He is not even close to ruined.

Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton and Barney Frank are all looked at with a jaundiced eye. Kennedy and Frank are no more respected than Sarah Palin just because they ALSO continue to hold their elected seats. Ted Kennedy, the lion of the senate, is at best looked at as the fading flawed and troubled remnant of an iconic past era. And this is the most upstanding member of his deteriorating clan. His niece’s senate attempt was both a joke and a political fiasco. His own poor judgment cost a young woman her life and he, the presidency. No one looks at Ted Kennedy today without looking at these things as well. Lion of the senate is the consolation prize given to Teddy more out of pity and charity than out of true respect.

Bill Clinton is looked at as a cheat and a liar and always will be. Sure we love his smoothness but he is not really respected. He is looked at as a president with the abilities to be great but done in by his own self indulgence and inability to be honorable. That hasn't changed. You can't look at Hillary without thinking about Monica. Living with that is no picnic I am sure.

As for Barney Frank, sure he has position and power (right now), but essentially Democrats and Republicans alike think he's a joke and cringe every time he is in front of the camera. No American looks at Frank (gay or straight), without thinking, even with his makeover 20 years ago, he is still essentially a loud mouthed, crass, dirty, fat slob. He will always be remembered as the congressman who had a gay escort service operating out of his home.

So, in total, it might be true that in America, we tend to demonize rather than execute...and it may be true the left uses this technique more often (currently) than the right, Republicans are not the only ones diminished in this process and in modern America where there is no shame, no one ever is truly ruined. And by the way, most of the techniques that Karl Rove developed to bring George W. Bush into the white house were not used by the democrats in 2000. However, democrats have mastered all those techniques today. Anything the democrats are doing today, republicans will have mastered, shortly. The world wags on.

One last comment. Here's a big two thumbs up, to support post #30. There's been a lot of talk on FreeRepublic recently about who is listening and recording our comments. I know my comments, if read by the dark lord himself, could have me (illegally) imprisoned for a hundred years. I made the decision to take that risk. If I can no longer speak my mind in America without fear of reprisal, then I fear for our world. I would rather be imprisoned for my free speech should it come to that, than lose this right. There are certain things which we all must be willing to die for. Free Speech is just such a thing. The best way to defend Free Speech is for us all to practice it in greater numbers and to do it with vigor. The answer is not to cower in fear.

Does anyone really think that the present-day democrat party will allow the survival of a republican party. You have to admit that democrats go for the jugular while republicans put on the kneepads.

You got that right. Tea parties will need to be abandoned soon as a structure and left behind. Obama is already moving to co-opt them and some self appointed people are trying to grab leadership positions in them by simply claiming them. They are meeting with (being used by) Obama now. These meetings are a farce, he knows our grievance and doesnt legitimately need any such meeting.

Tea party was great, but they will work morning, noon, and night to wrest control of it from us. It must be a viral effort, under no central control.

I think something will lead to a massive march on DC, and i dont mean a rally, i mean a government shutdown like the Orange revolution in Ukraine, etc,,, Thats just my prediction if Obama keeps up his attack at this pace. They cant arrest 5 million of us.

Liberty lives in the Truth. Liberty lives where people can speak freely, without fear of injury or reprisals. Liberty lives only when the press is free and unencumbered - when it is detached from events instead of entwined in them.

Liberty lives when people refuse to be intimidated into silence or acquiescence, whether in the workplace or within the community. Liberty is the fragile thing that diminishes whenever one refuses to acclaim it for oneself.

The Liberty to speak one’s is diminishing rapidly thanks to the MSM, Academia, etc. Plumber Joe found out fast as did the more recent Ms California. Personally, I’m the odd one out at work because I voted for McCain/Palin. I’m now a racist and xenophobe. I continue to not be intimidated but why should I be intimidated in the first place?
