Jeb Bush to Help Rebuild GOP

Republican political figures in recent days announced policy programs to challenge President Barack Obama's agenda and to counter perceptions that the GOP is a listless, leaderless "party of no."

In doing so, they're highlighting their differences with the Republican National Committee's political strategy.

House and Senate Republican lawmakers were the latest to launch a group independent of the RNC, announcing the formation of the National Council for a New America.

The group comprises potential GOP presidential candidates who plan town hall-style meetings to promote ideas different from Obama's. Their aides and allies have been vexed by the lack of comprehensive alternatives put forward by the national Republican leadership.

"One of the things that's constantly stated by the Obama administration spokesman is that the Republicans are the 'party of no,' and that the conservatives don't have ideas," said former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, whose brother, President George W. Bush, many blame for the party's unpopularity. "But conservatives, in general, have not done a great job on putting forward their ideas."

Governor Jeb Bush is probably thinking that eight years of Obama disaster will be enough to clear the way for another Bush to get elected President. He is wrong.

I believe the Bushes are decent people (I also know I could be wrong about that). But they need to back the heck off. Any effort on the part of the Bush machine to put another one of them in the White House will only help ruin the GOP and confine it to permanent failure.

Here's what I do. Thank the Bush family for their service, and tell them no thanks to any more of them. It is time for them to step aside. The real GOP hope is to draw from the tea parties a new commitment to Reagan's small government conservative ideas.

The era of kinder-gentler-thousand-points-of-compassionate-big-government-tone-changing-Bushism is over.

If RINOs don't like it, well, don't blame me. I voted for Palin.

in a way, it’s a shame, because Jeb strikes me as the most competent of the Bushes. But he’s in the wrong place at the wrong time. He should’ve elbowed GWB aside and run in 2000. Too late now.

I see no reason to care what the republican party does anymore.

Really? I think the exact same thing about Palin, R-Retard. An individual should be able to complete a few sentences in a row without a grammatical abortion before running for president, no?

Jeb is a whole different ballgame from W and HW. If you take the time to look at his record in FL this will be clear.

Jeb 2012! Or whenever. Or how about taking back a Senate seat for us.

8 years of Obama and there will be no more United States.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart GWB for keeping us safe after 11, Sept., 01, but frankly we've had enough of the Ivy League aristocrats with shady “New World Order”
allegiances.

It's time for new blood, red, not blue.

As far as I am concerned you can go to hell.

Don't forget to take your slimy gutter language with you.

I guess there are two choices: Either stand around with a finger in your nose bellyaching about how bad things are, or invoke change.

Jeb Bush owes it to the Republican Party to fight back. George never did. He just loved everybody. Consider the following:

Bush let outgoing Clinton staffers who had trashed the White House upon leaving, completely off the hook. All he needed to do was allow news cameras to film this disaster and Bill and Hillary would have taken a heavy blow.

Consider the additional coverup that George gave the Clintons over their fraudulent pardons. And then there was then-senator James Jeffords (R., Vt.) who became an independent in June 2001, the Senate switched from Republican to Democratic control. The day before the hand-off, Bush included Jeffords in a Cabinet Room photo opportunity.

Can anyone imagine Romney putting up with that crap?

As the press mocked George over and over with half truths, George just smiled, empowering his enemies. Sam Donaldson kept showing up and asking put down questions. Why would George even call on him in these conferences? TOTUS has taught us that you only need to call on your friends.

The “Mission Accomplished” issue could have been addressed by annoucing that getting rid was Saddam was the “accomplishment”. Of course the War was not finished, just like the Korean War is not finished. We continue to have troops there.

George didn’t use his power or the bully pit which was completely available to him.

Jeb needs to show that he can fight. Let him stand in the lime light for a while, take some hits and and throw some punches. Let him tell the World what a buffoon TOTUS is.

George just never fought back. Jeb, who doesn’t have the word mangling gene, should stand up to the plate now instead of leaving everything to Cheney.

He isn't fighting back. Like every other Bush before him, Jeb Bush doesn't utter one sentence that could offend the DemocRAT. All we get from a Bush is kinder-gentler crap, milktoast poll-tested mush. And America is sick of it.

I hope Jeb found some stones after he let a county probate judge push him around during the excruciating, televised three-week Terry Schiavo murder.

Not to forget that during the one term he governed as a liberal socialist.

I think you are right, Jeb Bush “doesn’t utter one sentence that could offend the DemocRAT”, but the title of this article is JEB BUSH TO REBUILD GOP. He needs to start now because the “milktoast poll-tested mush”, just doesn’t cut it. He can’t rebuild the GOP without fighting back.

Romney knew how to fight back. He showed how fierce he was in the primaries completely tearing down his opponents with in your face ads. We need someone like him -— or Lee Atwater.
