If ever you needed further proof of the "person of color" America really needs in charge right now, I urge you to watch this fabulous YouTube footage of the magnificent Condoleezza Rice being ambushed by left-liberal students at Stanford University with a series of "difficult" questions about torture, Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo Bay and US foreign policy under George W Bush. (Hat tip: Andrew Hamilton.)
Her coolness under fire is magnificent, but more impressive still is her refusal to duck the issues. "Sorry we have to leave", an official can be heard saying off camera, but Condi isn't going to take the easy way out: she wants to stand up for her principles and put the pantywaists in their place.
"Let me tell you something: unless you were there in a position of responsibility after September 11 you cannot possibly imagine the dilemmas that we faced in trying to protect Americans," she says.
"Maybe before you make allegations about Guantanamo, you should READ," says Condi, with exquisitely measured .
Condi, you are a star and if America won't have you as our next president, please will you come over and be our next Queen instead?

Probably the best ticket the GOP can put together for 2012.
Yay for Condi!
We are being run by cowards... JMHO... and unless the populace wakes up and takes a stand we are in deep, deep trouble.
I agree with that and that will redeem them for history's sake
but politically for longterm strategery for his party, Bush left a mess
oh no, you’re an evil baby boomer taking up too much oxygen space...don’t forget
/s
but most young folks are neither, they are leftists overwhelmingly and at a rate higher than at anytime in our history if their voting habits are a fair indication
they have been brainwashed over race, gender, and homosexuality just for starters and cannot face unpleasant empirical truths.
this sort of kneejerkedness is found even amongst conservative younger freepers here....mention race garbage and they instinctively give kumbabya answers like they are terrified of being called a racist
sad
I heard that she was for Obama. Do you know if that's true, or if their side lied?
In retrospect, since it dragged him down anyway, Condi would have been a better gamble than the one he did make.
Could you imagine a debate between her and O? She’d expose him for the uneducated moron he is.
“...Condi would have been a better gamble than the one he did make.”
Since she also wanted Obama to win, she would have fit right in to the McCain campaign. Then BOTH GOP candidates could have toured the country, telling America to vote for Obama.
Can you tell me what Condi believes in that makes you think she would be minimally competent as President?
No, she said acknowledged the historic part of a possible black president but that’s all. People here ASSUMED she voted for O because she’s black.
Find the quote and post it where Condi said she wanted O to win.
See my post #44. She didn’t give a formal endorsement per Colin Powell, but she came as close as possible.
I don’t assume it because she’s black, I assume it because no one opposed to Obama would say the things she did. She was served up softballs giving her a chance to criticize Obama’s foreign policy, and she didn’t do it. Instead, she said America would be safe with Obama.
That puts her squarely in the center of the McCain campaign, but I sure don’t feel very safe right now!
We are in dangerous territory. In the old Orwellian Soviet Union, the state's organ of deliberately false propaganda was called "Truth".
Today, the MSM can filter, bend, or deliberately lie, and people accept it as "truth" because for many years the press built a reputation of seeking the truth. Despite the Jayson Blairs and Stephen Glasses, the MSM is not eroded in the eyes of most people, who in today's litigious society, believe if it is in print, it must be true, otherwise, someone would sue.
It is not the same thing. The last thing anyone here needs is you putting words in their mouth, or Condi’s.
She was an employed member of the Bush Administration. Of course she isn’t going to be hyper critical or gushing either way. You really don’t get it, do you?
Apart from “Obama’s the Messiah!”, what do you need her to say or do?
And your tag line is “Go Israel” - do you mean, go into the sea? Take a look at Condi’s record on Israel.

Even in this video clip, she doesn’t defend waterboarding. She only says she passed on the Administration’s approval. Does she look at the kid and say, “Do you know what torture is? Do you realize the Democratic Congress, in approving treaties, gave a written and detailed description of what torture is, and waterboarding doesn’t qualify? Do you think John McCain would have preferred to be waterboarded vs the torture he received? Do you think a caterpillar in a cell is torture?
Name the positions she has taken that qualifies her as a conservative.
Wow, you must be some sort of psychic to know what people do based on what they’ve said. And you clearly, CLEARLY missed the message in the video, because Condi was speaking directly to YOU when she spoke about not doing blanket ‘we’re not going to work with you’ quackery. But keep living your illusion. It suits you well.
She was in the Bush Administration, so she wasn’t going to be hyper-critical? Well, given the weak-kneed Bush Admin, I suppose you are right. That is probably why we’ve had our butts handed to us by democrats - we had an administration that never attacked its opponents.
Why couldn’t she have replied, in ever so polite Bushian fashion, “I obviously disagree with Mr Obama on many foreign policy issues, and it probably doesn’t surprise anyone that I disagree on domestic issues as well. Although I’d be glad to see a black man as President, it is important that it be the RIGHT black man.”
Or how about something really radical, and say skin color shouldn’t matter when running for office? Is that too much to ask?
No rudeness, just an acknowledgment that Obama isn’t the right man for President. But she couldn’t do that?
Nor could she remain silent. Instead, she made it clear Obama would be fine by her. And that is unacceptable to me. And YOU don’t get it, do you...
