Reagan split the youth vote in '80 and won it convincingly in '84 and his coattails brought the youth vote to Bush in '88. That youth vote, as manifest as a strong college Republican presence throughout the '80s, buoyed the GOP for the next 15-20 years.

While the Dems have been winning the 18-29 ever since, it's Obama 30+ point advantage that is an ominous sign for the GOP. While Carville's 45 year prediction is foolish, anyone who doesn't think that the Dems will enjoy a significant advantage the next 20 years is whistling past the graveyard.

I don't think it will last that long.....

.....The radical left agenda of taxing energy, shutting down power plants, and polluting the landscape everywhere with windmills and solar panels while having to institute the stupid smart grid to limit demand will not get very far.

There will be a BIG backlash as the evidence that the premise for this radical plan, saving the planet from AGW, is nonsense and will not change climate change ONE BIT.

People get cranky, especially idealist young kids who have their video games and reality TV shows shut off by the stupid smart grid. They just don't know what they are asking for yet.
