Based on my own assessment, the house appears fairly valued. I’m unaware of any way to verify on-line that taxes were or were not paid on it. Perhaps you do?
There is more than enough to detest Uh-uh-uhbama without falling for unsubstantiated internet bull crap.

And it should be very easy to discover if he has ever paid property taxes... remember Joe the Plumber...

I understand your point, but if these details are accurate, claiming home as an office for non-profit, thereby alluding the general taxation that other citizens must submit to, since they are not connected politically, it may well be legal -- it is not ethical. It is the same kind of thing that went on when he sat as a Member of the House, living in a domicile which was owned by a fellow member who paid all the tax for it, he contributed nothing, not even rent if memory serves. It's not so much no Republican could get away with these scams, since there are numerous GOP pols who've done all manner of shenanigans, it's that WE, the ordinary yokel cannot get away with this stuff.
And WE don't stand in the well of the House or at a podium as WH COS and pontificate on how *some* Americans aren't paying their fair share all the while. That is why this is wrong, regardless it may pass the legal test. One more time I say to these weasels, just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

It is also public record in Cook County. Look what I found:

Looks Like Rahm paid $6,511.30 half-year in taxes on 2/23/09 after all. They paid similar half-year amounts on 02/27/08 and 10/14/08. His total yearly tax bill is about $13,000. I thought $6,500 for a $650k house was a bit low.
Even though he is an obama weasel, unless he has some other trick going, someone owes him an apology.
