While I was in the military we had to get the flu shot every year. I never got the flu. After I retired, I stopped getting the shot. I THEN got the flu, and bad. Caught pnuemonia and had to miss a lot of work. That was ten years ago. I went back to getting the annual flu shot, and haven't got the flu since.
